A fantastic wildlife and history tour of the small island of Alderney

A small tour operator specialising in wildlife tours either in small groups or tailomade

It was a 4 day trip to the Yorkshire coast, focusing on birds which migrate both in and out of the UK during autumn. We were a group of 12, with 2 trip leaders, and we all stayed in a country manor house, with fine dining. It was lovely to experience this with a group of like-minded people, and having the trip leaders to guide us was the ‘icing on the cake’! I felt that I learned a lot from them, which was my aim, In addition to following the trip itinerary, they ensured that participants individual interests were covered, which enhanced the experience for all.

They provide leaders who are experts in their field, and from my experiences so far, I have found that this certainly makes the trips come alive, and for me the experiences have been truly enriching. Participants can opt for all travel arrangements to be organised by Naturetrek, which ensures a stress free journey - a delightful start and end to the trip.

We had a very enjoyable day with our Naturetrek guide. He was very knowledgeable so we learned a lot and he was able see and hear birds that we would otherwise have missed. He found a Red Back Shrike that the other groups of birders were struggling to spot. On the final walk back to the cars at the end of the day he heard a tree creeper which we then saw so there were several firsts four group.

Naturetrek have organised several Tailormade day trips in the UK for us during the pandemic. All have been great days with excellent guides and we are very much looking forward to our planned trips to Europe with them next year.

A great day at Man Sands and on the charter boat on the River Dart. Mike was extremely knowledgeable about the birds and animals and where they were likely to be. The highlights were definitely the kingfisher and the osprey. The latter would have been very difficult to spot without Mike's expertise. I would highly recommend this trip.

After so long in lockdown the chance to see the scenic splendor of Majorca, its natural history while enjoying all the advantages of good food in a relaxing atmosphere close to the sea was an envigorating experience. To Covid testing and form filling in was stressful but the hotel staff and our tour guides worked hard to steer us through the protocols.

I have been on many Naturetrek holidays and the reason I keep coming back is that they always combine good value for money, knowledgeable guides and have a good office infrastructure to allow easy booking and useful joining information. Beautiful week birding on Isle of Mull, including trips to islands. Two very good specialist guides who drew our attention to many outstanding sights, and of course stunning scenery everywhere we went.

Naturetrek are experienced wildlife tour operators and provide excellent value for money, delivering wonderful encounters with nature.

We went bird watching on Mallorca. The third morning was a washout but despite this, and the rest of the week being overcast and showery, the tour leaders rearranged things so that we did everything promised on the itinerary. The tour leaders were very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful. They made the holiday a very enjoyable success.

NatureTrek gave excellent pre-travel advice and preparation. Whenever we contacted the office the staff were always polite, friendly and helpful.

Spent a day in Old Basing in Hampshire on ‘A Day with Small Mammals’, with guide Jim. Had a great time learning about small mammals, looking at traps, weighing the caught mammals and releasing them. We also looked for signs of dormice and other animals. All in all a very enjoyable day.
