We walked the whole length of Hadrian's wall. We forgot about eveything else than just walking, looking at the wonderful scenery, and trying to find a place to have coffee once in a while. There were four of us, average age 58.

This is the second time we travel with Mickledore. Since they take care of everything so beautifully we can just enjoy the walk and the scenery. The B&B are very well chosen, spotless, with great breakfasts. The info and maps are perfect.

Recently completed wainrights coast to coast walk. Fantastic 14 day walking holiday which I booked through Mickledore travel. Varied stunning scenery through the 3 different national parks in the north of England. Met some lovely people along the way with a good sense of camaraderie. great food and B & Bs completed the great holiday experience.

Booked my coast to coast walk through Mickledore travel. It was important to me that I had characterful accommodation of a high standard on the route and Mickledore didn't disappoint. The logistics worked seemlessly and the pack of walk information was easy to follow and helpful. Definately will be using them again and would recommend to anyone. Price was competitive too.

Walking Hadrian's wall was a great success, although the weather could have been better towards the end of the holiday. Thanks to Mickdore, the accommodation was great with very warm and welcoming hosts, that couldn't do enough for us, especially when arriving on their doorstep soaking wet, which seemed to be the theme of the holiday. Additionally, the breakfasts, packed lunches and evening meals were just perfect, where we had expected to lose a few pounds walking I believe we may have gained a few pounds. I'm pleased to say that the organisation of our holiday and the pack provided was spot on, with our cases arriving at the accommodation before we did. Camaraderie between walkers on the same journey and staying at the same accommodation was also great. Thank you for making this an excellent experience, we will certainly recommend Mickledore to our friends and family.

Great organisation Mickledore provided everything necessary for a first class walking holiday

Our family of 4 adults walked St. Cuthbert's Way from Melrose to the Holy Island. We walked for 7 days, the longest day being 14 miles. The scenery was breathtaking and the weather cooperated. We love the hospitality of the folks we met along the way. We made friends with other walkers, too. We hope to be able to do more walking tours in the UK.

Our accommodations were quite lovely. Our luggage was always promptly picked up and delivered without any worry on our part. The instruction packet we received ahead of time helped us to prepare for our trip, making dinner reservations in advance and knowing what to expect. The written directions we received along with maps were well done in getting us to our appointed accommodations. It was so nice not to have to worry about anything while we walked! We would definitely use Mickledore Travel for future walking tours.

A wonderful experience. The two of us set out on the Tuesday morning from Ilkley in glorious sunshine. As nearly 70 year olds, we were nervous at some of the distances, but we made the first day to Grassington (26kms) walking mostly along the bank of the River Wharfe. The second and third days were also glorious getting is to Hubberholme and Ribblehead respectively, but on day four the rain set in and we arrived in Dent soaking wet. Day five saw us dodging the rain in Sedbergh, whilst days six and seven were fine, excepting for a monumental shower about 45 minutes from our arrival in Bowness on Windermere which saw us arriving at our accommodation soaking wet! It was a memorable holiday taking us through spectacular scenery: along river banks, through fields with sheep grazing, over stiles, over moorland, under spectacular viaducts, finally ending at Lake Windermere.

Our walking holiday was planned by Mickledore. Coming from South Africa it was important for us for everything from bookings to sherparing our luggage to go without any hitch. This all happened perfectly. Each afternoon when we arrived at our accommodation our luggage was there ahead of us, and our hosts were expecting us.

My wife and I walked Wainwright's Coast to Coast in May/June 2016. This is a superb walk and well deservedly called "one of the Worlds great walks".We took 16 days for the walk of nearly 200 miles which passes through three National Parks giving a constantly changing scene as you cross England from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hoods Bay in Yorkshire. We were very fortunate To have no rain on our trip which made it even more enjoyable!

Mickledore Travel organised everything on the trip as we requested. We chose the number of walking days, a day off en-route, baggage carried and packed lunches, and transport to the start and from the finish to our base in Richmond Yorks. All the B&B's and Hotels were excellent including those in more remote areas. The information pack provided was extremely comprehensive and more than met our requirements.We enjoyed our walk even more as everything went so smoothly. We wll certainly use Mickledore again, it was so nice to get the personal touch from a small operator. We would have no hesitation in recommending their holidays to others.

West Highland Way (WHW) with Mickledore travel is a self-guided walk from Milngavie on the northern edge of Glasgow to Fort William, 96 miles on the route, plus whatever diversions you want to make. We went for the eight day option though we could have chosen seven or nine. The WHW is a well marked and well-known route attracting walkers from all over the world. We met walkers from New Zealand and the USA as well as several European countries. Although a very popular walk we found lots of space to walk at our own pace and often with noone else in sight. We were especially blessed to have eight sunny warm days. Highlights: the shores of Loch Lomond, the space of Rannoch Moor and the hills of the last two days.

Mickledore Travel looked after all the practical arrangements for our walk, booking B and B accommodation for each night, and arranging luggage transport from one venue to the next. They also supplied us with a map of the WHW and a detailed Guidebook together with detailed notes about places to eat, shop and bank. All their B and Bs were of a good standard: a mixture of hotels, B&B-type houses and Guest Houses.

We walked the Cotswold Way. Stayed in B&B's each night and had excellent service from the planning to the flight home.

They looked after all our needs, including special diet needs. Everything worked like clockwork and our holiday was one of our very best ones yet. We plan to do another walk and would not hesitate to use the same company.
