This was our first organised walking holiday. Mickledore booked the rooms, arranged packed lunches where possible and arranged for our baggage to be at the next stop. It all worked smoothly. The choice of places to stay overnight was good. I will certainly use Mickledore again.

They were easy to communicate with and sent us an excellent information pack with everything we needed to know and more.

14 days walking the 192 miles from St Bees to Robin Hoods Bay ( Coast to Coast), although quite challenging, the logistics of it were made so much easier by booking with Mickledore.

Mickledore were really understanding as this holiday was booked before covid, we were always given options of amending or cancelling throughout that time. Once the holiday went ahead, the information sent out, and the organisation of accommodation and luggage transfers were second to none, we would not hesitate to use them again.

We had a beautiful 100 mile walk through the Scottish Highlands. As usual, Mickledore handled all the details perfectly. The accommodations were lovely, and the luggage was transferred without any problems. This was our fourth walking holiday with Mickledore, and we have more planned.

Everything was arranged by the tour operator, from accommodation to a comprehensive array of information concerning where to eat, draw money, get provisions, chemists etc etc. Also a detailed itinerary and map included in the cost of the holiday. Special commendation as Mickledore carried forward my booking originally made for spring 2020, first to 2021 and then 2022 when Covid conditions finally made it possible.

Walked Hadrian’s Wall as 5 friends celebrating our 50th birthdays on a 6 days walking and 7 nights accommodation package.

Booked Mickledore’s 6 days and 7 nights package and could not have asked for better service. The accommodation they chose was excellent, the bag haulier moved our cases between the properties and the packed lunches made life so much easier. The company provided a pack containing all the maps we needed, an itinerary, a list of useful stops along the way and discount vouchers. When one of our group realised that recent surgery might inhibit their ability to walk the full distance each day, Mickledore provided advice about using sticks, local bus routes and taxi numbers. It was simply a fantastic week.

This was a self-guided walking tour along the Great Glen Way in Scotland, as a group of 3 couples. We were impressed with the standard of guest house accommodation, with well-appointed rooms, welcoming hosts and great breakfasts. The taxi transfers, arranged by Mickledore on a couple of days, were prompt and worked well. The information packs were comprehensive and helpful in providing information on restaurants for evening meals. The luggage transfer service worked seamlessly, and was very useful.

Just finished a fabulous 4-day walk along the Fife Coast in Scotland arranged by Mickledore. The daily walks were so beautiful, balancing gorgeous coastline with Scottish villages. Our lodgings each night were excellent--smartly equipped, clean, and the innkeepers were so warm and welcoming.

I had originally planned this trip in 2019, but it's been postponed twice due to Covid. Throughout the last three years, as I tried to reschedule my trip, Mickledore has been patient and thorough in their communications. Their pre-trip packet was wonderfully detailed, the lodgings during our trip were excellent (and the innkeepers were a joy to meet!), and the walk itself was full of beautiful scenery. An experience I would highly recommend.

We walked from Ilkley to Bowness-on-Windermere, a distance of 81 miles, in 6 days. Mickledore Travel organised the whole trip, including the accommodation and luggage transfers each day.

Mickledore are exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable on the telephone when booking. Their pre-departure holiday pack is incredibly informative and includes a map, book and suggested places to eat. During the holiday, we had a couple of issues (not Mickledore's fault) and Mickledore resolved them promptly and with professionalism. The accommodation they book is of a very high standard and the luggage transfer went smoothly.
