Walking the Cleveland Way with our dog was the perfect way to enjoy the flowering heather and stunning views of the North York Moors in august.

Mickledore Travel arranges all accomodation, lugage transport and taxis when necessary. No hassle, lovely small hotels and B&B's, what else could you wish for?

We did the Lake District Northern Traverse walk this August. It was my third Lake District holiday and this walk still managed to surprise me. It offered plenty of extra opportunities for more challenging walks and it surprised me with even more stunning sceneries. You walk at your own pace and without any worries, because your luggage is being taken care of and your next stop will be very welcoming as always. I really enjoy travelling with Mickledore because they work with local communities.

I think it was my eighth holiday with Mickledore and again, they did an excellent job. You pick a route out of a wide range of walks, varied by region, interest and difficulty. You get always proper B&B's and a very reliable service. They work with local communities which makes you always feel very welcomed when you arrive. The travel information is very complete and clear. They even try to personalise your trip if possible.

I did a walking holiday 'The Cumbrian Way' with Mickledore travel which was very well organised. All the accommodation was of a good standard with friendly service and excellent food. Our bags were always there when we arrived and each B&B gave us a warm welcome.

Always very friendly and knowledgeable, they have been on most of the walks they advertise so know the route well.

From start to finish, Mickledore took care of every detail so I could focus on completing this once in a lifetime, epic journey. Knowing I was i good hands with them, I throughly enjoyed every aspect of every day, was successful in walking to completion, and I owe a big part of that to MIckledore.

Mickledore we’re very well organised from beginning to end. All accommodation, transfers and booking procedures were very good.

Overall very positive experience, this is the second walking holiday in the UK and met up to expectations. Beautiful scenery, paths very well signposted and generally nice to walk on. A few more country lanes to walk on than I liked. Overall great walk, accommodation and weather

Excellent communication from the beginning, easy to book through and quickly responded to questions. Excellent information, guidebook and maps although I would have liked them a little earlier.

It was a very enjoyable walking trip along the Yorkshire Wolds Way. One day wasn't completed due to extreme heat, but the accommodation provider collected me. The route is largely well sign posted, but there are a couple of points where reading the map or compass could be helpful. The terrain will be weather dependent but was very firm underfoot for me. Some woodland. A lot of agricultural land.

Very efficient. All accommodation stops were very good and some were excellent. Expect a mixture of country pubs, B&Bs and small hotels. My only suggestions to the operator are to write the number of miles per day in the trip booklet and to provide transfer if the location of night one is not as advertised.

A wonderful walk through the Yorkshire Dales - covering parts of Swaledale and Wensleydale - visiting the market towns that the James Herriot (James Alfred Wight OBE FRCVS) would have travelled through - Aysgarth, Askrigg, Hawes, Keld Thwaite and Reeth to name a few. The route takes in 52 miles (83km) of travel over 4 - 5 days as required. Stunning views in all directions - a sight worth seeing. Would strongly recommend to anyone.

I have used Mickledore for several years now from Hadrian's Wall to Fort William to Inverness and parts of the Coastal Way. They have been faultless in their organisation and selection of B&B's along these various routes. I booked the Herriot Way walk just before COVID appeared and borders closed and they were kind enough to carry the booking forward till such time as the International Borders reopened to enable me to travel. They have also been very prompt in responding to requests via email. While they offer this quality of service I will continue to use.
