Excellent walking holiday

This is the third time we have used Mickledore and as usual the planning was faultless. Superb walking and accommodation around the Gower peninsula

Hadrian's Wall - Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway

We were a group of five walking Hadrian's Wall over seven days, staying in eight different Guesthouses/Hotels. All of us couldn't fault the quality and service received at the chosen places. Each day we received excellent packed lunches and used the reliable luggage transfer service.

All the information we received was excellent. Every detail seemed to have been researched in depth, from the itinerary to what we could find locally in all the places along our route. They had included how to get to our start venue, arranged secure parking for our cars at a reduced rate, and provided a booklet containing every minute detail of the holiday in a daily format (hotels and their details, location map, taxis if needed). We also had a Harvey's map for the whole route and a book entitled "Hadrian's Wall Path" by Henry Stedman which contained excellent route guidance and so many more facts. All of Mickledore's information was also available on their phone app. The few times we needed to speak to them we always found someone answered the phone quickly and was able to help us with our enquiries.

Beautiful walking holidays

I recently completed two self-guided walking holidays in the U.K. with Mickledore Travel, the Cleveland Coast and the Northumberland Coast. I hiked along the coastlines and stayed in pre-booked accommodations along the way, with luggage transfer organized by the company.

Great well organised holiday

A well organised walking tour of the aisle of Wight Coastal Walk. Advance information was very good as was the route description that we followed. A Cumbria Way hike that surpassed everything on my wishlist and more

I'm a massive lover of the hills and trails having done a few but this was my first solo walk due to a late booking and unavailable friends, I was really excited to be walking the Cumbria Way as its a magical place but started my walk with a few solo nerves. However I really needn't have worried and as I relaxed into the walk, found my pace and started enjoying the fantastic scenery and comfortable accommodation my tour operator organised for me, it proved to be one of my best walking holidays ever.

Mickledore are just the best. I'd actually rung another walking company (MacsAdventures) and just felt we weren't really on the same page. By complete chance I remembered I'd picked up a Mickledore brochure and stashed it safely so I gave them a ring. So glad I did. They couldn't fit me on the West Highland Way as it was already full and suggested the Cumbria Way. I was nervous about walking it alone but I spoke to one of the Mickledore staff who'd actually walked the trail and she completely put my mind at rest. The Way passes through Keswick where their office is based and they invited me to pop in as I had time. So lovely to meet some of them and picked up some other trail leaflets while I was there. The whole week went like clockwork and the accommodation was very good/excellent.

I think it was my eighth holiday with Mickledore and again, they did an excellent job. You pick a route out of a wide range of walks, varied by region, interest and difficulty. You get always proper B&B's and a very reliable service. They work with local communities which makes you always feel very welcomed when you arrive. The travel information is very complete and clear. They even try to personalise your trip if possible.
