Another fabulous trip with McKinlay Kidd

We traveled the western coast of Ireland -- The Wild Atlantic Way. We stayed in three different locations and saw as much of the coast as we could. It was wonderful.

This was our second trip with McKinlay Kidd. Their level of customer service is off the charts. We would recommend them to anyone and definitely hope to travel with them again.

Isles of Skye and Mull

We booked our four-day trip to Skye and Mull with McKinlay Kidd--hotels, ferry reservations, and car. We highly recommend them. Robert held our hands over the phone during some potential ferry problems due to rough weather. He contacted the ferry company directly and kept us posted. In the end, all was well, but we were so relieved to have someone to call who could figure out what was going on and report back. Both of our hotels--Eilean ...

Robert held our hands over the phone during some potential ferry problems due to rough weather. He contacted the ferry company directly and kept us posted. In the end, all was well, but we were so relieved to have someone to call who could figure out what was going on and report back. Both of our hotels--Eilean Iarmain on Skye and Tobermory Hotel on Mull--were terrific. On Skye, we were on the Sleat Peninsula with a lovely view of a small cove. The hotel pub food was excellent, and the service was friendly. On Mull, we were in the town on the harbor, welcomed by friendly staff who were very knowledgable about the history of Mull. The car routes provided were extremely useful, as was Robert's guide to favorite places. McKinlay Kidd also provides a good driving map of Scotland.

Short and Sweet!

I decided to have a weekend in the Orkneys. Mckinlay Kidd organised the hotel and booked me a self-drive car. it was early October and the weather was kind. I saw Skara Brae in all its glory. Driving is a special experience because of the narrow roads! Stromness has such narrow streets that cars cannot pass

Above and beyond the expectations

Great survey tour of Scotland from the major cities through the Highlands and Islands to the Lowlands. A nice little view into the beauty of the Scottish landscape.

From booking to departure, nothing was left to chance. They think of everything you need to know and some things that you never thought to think about. When I return to holiday in Ireland or Scotland, I'll use McKinlay Kidd again.

10 excellent days in Outer Hebrides with very good arrangements for accommodation, ferries etc

Traveled Oban to Barra then North through the Islands before returning Stornoway-Ullapool. The split of Barra 2,Uist 1,Harris 3 and Lewis 3was exactly right. Schedule and notes from McKinlay Kidd were first class

Very good hotels with good food and friently staff. Stunning scenery and a magical few days on Orkney.

We travelled up the west coast staying at Kintail, Torridon and Drumbeg and then along the north coast to Thurso. We crossed to Orkney where we spent three nights and enjoyed the magic of remote and ancient places.

We couldn't have organised this trip without them as we did not know this part of Scotland at all. They picked great hotels with welcoming staff and made sure that we had good rooms in them. They also gave excellent advice on places to visit on the journey. They fulfilled the brief we gave them to perfection.

McKinlay Kidd responded to this review on 14 Oct 2015:

This is one of our favourite parts of Scotland and its great to hear that you also enjoyed exploring it.

Distillery Tour of Scotland

A brilliant itinerary, expertly delivered to a group that in other parts of the world would have been seen as small enough to warrant cancellation. I am so happy that the tour went ahead. A family atmosphere was soon created, and… wow! What a holiday. The whisky almost became incidental; I said, almost!
