Exploring Scotland by Rail
Our trip which was arranged by McKinley Kidd took us to a number of beautiful locations in Scotland. We were not at all familiar with the country so we very much appreciated being able to take a tour which gave us the highlights and was a trip we could do on our own without having to join a large organized tour. McKinley Kidd set up the train, ferry, and car transfer services and arranged our stays in wonderful small family-run hotels and B&Bs. They even managed to coordinate our arrival in Pitlochry with the beginning of the regional Highland Games competition. Train, ferry, and car/van transfer services were excellent and punctual. We had a grand time and thoroughly enjoyed our introduction to Scotland and its people. One additional comment: McKinley Kidd provides travelers a folder with a comprehensive schedule as well as supplemental maps and information to customers just prior to the trip. This is in addition to schedule information provided to customers well in advance of the trip.

It was a pleasure to work with McKinley Kidd in that they were most responsive to our questions and requests even though we had to make a change of dates for our tour of Scotland after we had finalized our original plans. They definitely know the country as well as the best locations to stay.

I have used the services of McKinlay Kidd over the last four years for travel holidays around Northern Scotland, the Western Hebrides, Western Ireland and now the Shetland Isles. They have made proposals for my itinerary with recommendations on places to visit, restaurants, museums etc. This service has included arrangements for accommodation and all travel details (taxis, car hire, ferries etc). The service has always been efficient, polite and friendly with extremely good support documentation, tickets and maps.

A tour of Scotland
WE traveled by train and stayed in B&B's. We started in Edinborgh, went to Pitlochry, Inverness, Isle of Skye, Jacobite Steam train, Spean Bridge, Isle of Mull, and Glasgow.

It was a very well organized tour. The choices made by the tour operator were great for us. Everything went like clockwork. The B&B's were charming. We felt like we got a good taste of Scotland for the amount of time we could spend there.

Very enjoyable break..
A week in Ireland visiting Dublin, Galway and finishing in Belfast.

We would recommend the tour operator/organiser and would use again. Everything was arranged and booked in a way that made things simple; with no unexpected problems. There were tours/trips arranged in every City plus sufficient free time to look around.

Extremely well organized from the planning right through to the actual holiday experience.
This was the first time my husband had been to Scotland, so we booked a short tour of Scotland by train, staying in Pitlochry, Inverness, Spean Bridge, Luss and Edinburgh. We had a wonderful time, so much so that we may be going back in 2018. The best part of the holiday was that everything was arranged and paid for ahead of time so all we had to do was show up on time for the trains and have a worry free vacation.

McKinlay Kidd did and excellent job in working with me to plan our train tour of Scotland, including some modifications I wanted to make. Everything went off without a hitch, the trains were booked and seats reserved, the B&Bs were lovely (especially the Craigatin in Pitlochry), and we had a great vacation as a result. For anyone planning a vacation in Britain, I would highly recommend booking everything through McKinlay Kidd.

Excellent holiday pack given. We kept referring to it as it was most informative
From the moment we left Glasgow this was a stressfree holiday enabling us to enjoy the spectacular views. A very warm welcome at The Old Pines, Spean Bridge with scones and tea served by Mali at Old Pines. Greatly appreciated. Delicious evening meal. The dining room was overlooking Ben Nevis, such a romantic setting We toured Skye with Peggy Nicolson - her local knowledge and her excellent driving made it all so special. We travelled ...

McKinlay Kidd worked hard to match our requirements and timings for a great holiday. We recommend them.
McKinlay Kidd were really helpful in arranging the holiday we wanted with great accommodation. The standard of service was high and the documentation informative and spot on. McKinlay Kidd booked a range of high standard accommodation exactly to our requests and we had a truly memorable time. We would certainly recommend them to family and friends and use them again.

Edinburgh and the Scottish Highlands
My husband and I did a driving tour of Edinburgh and the Highlands with McKinlay Kidd. We had a lovely experience! The driving directions were clear, our accommodations were wonderful, and transports all happened to plan. We will absolutely use McKinlay Kidd for our future trips to England, Scotland, and Ireland.

Great way to see Scotland! Via train!
Huge breakfasts and great train rides through the highlands meant we didn't have to drive and never got hungry! We especially enjoyed the tours of Culloden battlefield, Cawdor Castle, Blair Atholl Castle and St George's fort and all the history we learnt. We started off in Edinburgh and ended up in Glasgow, two very different but terrific cities. We took Hop On Hop Off rides in both cities to get an overview first and then went to specific ...

Awesome!
