An Exciting Ireland Adventure of the Best Kind

We did a customized, independent combination train/chauffeured trip of the Reuplic of Ireland which did not disappoint in any way. It was organized perfectly to every detail. Our accommodations were well researched and more than expected. The recommendations in our package helped us so much in making the most of each place that we visited. The pace was perfect for us. Our accommodations were well researched and more than expected. The recommendations in our package helped us so much in making the most of each place that we visited. The pace was perfect for us. Our drivers were so knowledgable and helped us get so much out of each day that we were with them. We felt our trip was a perfect balance for us and came away feeling that we had had a wonderful adventure with absolutely no stress as each detail was perfectly executed by McKinlay Kidd and the price was right for all we got.

A wonderful self drive tour of the Outer Hebrides and the far north of Scotland

We spent 16 or 17 very memorable and happy days driving ourselves around Mull and then the Outer Hebrides from Vatersay and Barra in the south to Harris & Lewis in the north. We then drove clockwise from Ullapool to Inverness along the 500 route. McKinlay Kidd organised all parts of this holiday magnificently. We have travelled extensively in the UK over the years but this trip was particularly memorable and enjoyable. It is such a long, long flight from Melbourne, Australia to the UK but it is always worth it and this year particularly so.

McKinlay Kidd: I found their website independently without any recommendation from anyone else. It proved to be great discovery as their service, helpfulness and knowledge provided us with a great holiday.

Wonderfully organised with excellent places to stay.

From the moment we arrived at the Carlton George Hotel in Glasgow to finishing 16 days later at the Bonham Hotel in Edinburgh every detail of our holiday was taken care off. When taxis were arranged to meet us off trains they were always there on the platform waiting for us. All the locations in which we stayed were of the highest quality. If due to inclement weather, alterations to the plans had to be made they were done seamlessly. We would ...

McKinlay Kidd provided us with maps and details of all our overnight stays and excellent recommendations of what we might do in the area.

A first visit to Outer Hebrides....but due to superb organisation from our travel company it all went smoothly. We enjoyed touring around the islands and were always delighted to receive a warm welcome at the pre booked hotels, which were excellent and offered first class facilities. The breakfasts at Lews Castle deserves special mention...beautifully served on individual platters. We also appreciated having all the ferry arrangements booked for us...

Everything was exactly as advertised!

We took a rail trip through Scotland. McKinlay Kidd booked our train tickets and lodging. The information they sent as well as the packet that was hand-delivered was complete and easily understood. The times on our itinerary were exact and we were met at the stations as indicated and transported to our guest houses. Thanks to McKinlay Kidd this truly was one of the best holidays we have ever taken.

Wonderful trip around Scotland!

We took multiple different trains and a ferry to tour around Scotland. The weather was wonderful and the arrangements by our tour company were PERFECT. The people we met were so NICE. I would use McKinlay Kidd again if we ever go back to the UK.

McKinlay Kidd handled all the details. Everything went like clockwork. The people they used to escort us on the Isle of Skye and at Loch Ness were fantastic. My husband can't walk well and both of them were more than helpful with him. I wanted to buy some yarn on the Isle of Skye and Peggy found me a local yarn store!! All the tickets we needed were present. I can't say enough about how easy it was to travel because of their preparations.

I enjoyed it very much. Took a train from Glasgow to Fort William. Scenery was lovely. Spent the night in Spean Bridge at a very nice hotel with beautiful scenery and the opportunity to take a walk in the area. Took the steam train from Fort William to Mallaig, which was a great experience. Ferry ride over to Skye was enjoyed as the day was sunny.
