THIS WELL-PUT-TOGETHER PACKAGE ENABLED US TO TAKE A WEEK'S TOUR OF THE HIGHLANDS AND EXPERIENCE THE STUNNING SCENERY TO FULL ADVANTAGE. ALTHOUGH IT WAS ONLY FOR A WEEK WE CAME AWAY FEELING THAT THE ITINERARY HAD ENABLED US TO MAKE THE MOST OF ALL THAT THE DIFFERENT LOCATIONS HAD TO OFFER WHILST ENJOYING SOME FIRST CLASS ACCOMMODATION

The staff were all extremely helpful in enabling a bespoke package to be arranged and the information pack and app that were supplied proved very useful in being able to make the most of the places visited.

My 7 day trip was amazing, really enjoyed Island of sky. Hotel Eilean Larmain was secluded beautiful views of the bay great staff. All bnbs had great food. Lovely rooms. All travel connections were met!!!

McKinlay Kidd arranged for a grand self-guided holiday around Scotland. We traveled by train from town to town and were met at each location by a driver or guide. Premier accommodations awaited us making travel very easy and pleasant.

McKinlay Kidd arranged the entire holiday with great attention to detail. Their knowledge, responsiveness and level of service were quite impressive. At our request they individualized and customized several parts of the trip. Upon arrival, a welcome package containing our vouchers, tickets and travel information was waiting for us. They also provided a custom phone/i-pad app that was extremely informative and helpful. During our travels they contacted us to ensure all was well. All of the accommodations and private tours exceeded our expectations. Because of their expertise, our vacation proceeded flawlessly. We recommend this tour operator without hesitation.

A extremely well organised holiday, at short notice, with excellent advice on venues and activities. Good communication and folder with maps and instructions. A first class tour operator.

We flew to Inverness, took a train through the most remote areas of Scotland stayed in delightful accomodation in Thurso and did a beautiful coastal walk; next day on a ferry to Orkney and two days exploring with a taxi driver whose knowledge and love of the place was inspiring, then back on a ferry and train to Inverness to an amazing boutique B&B for two nights + a trip on Lochness and a visit to Urquhart Castle.

Nothing was too much trouble, always ready to adapt and support when changes needed to be made

We spent a long weekend near Ben Nevin including a trip on the Jacobite train over Glen Finnarn and a day in Inverness

We used McKinlay Kidd to secure our trip on the Jacobite Express and assiciated 3 night stay at the Old Pines hotel. It was a superb trip, everything preplanned and delivered on time, exceeding our expectations!

Excellent communication throughout, with documents suppled on time and also online via the Vamoos app. Could not fault them or their choice of accommodation in any way. We also met a lovely NZ couple using McKinlay Kidd with the same response from the other side of the world. First Class.

We had a lovely three-day holiday in Spean Bridge, staying in a beautiful hotel and travelled from Fort William to Mallaig on the Jacobean steam train. A beautiful part of the country to visit, and the organisation of the holiday by McKinlay Kidd could not be faulted.

Excellent service throughout, with fantastic documentation and reference materials, much better than I had expected. We were very impressed by this company's efficiency and support.

We flew to Barra from Glasgow and had the amazing experience of landing on the Cockle Strand; highly recommended! After two nights in Castlebay we travelled north using local buses and ferries, spending two nights in Lochmaddy and two nights in Stornoway. Using local buses was an excellent choice since it gave us an opportunity to meet the locals and listen to the drivers' stories along the way. The ever changing scenery and remoteness of the Outer Hebrides was an absolute joy.

A small but efficient and friendly company, which offers a truly personal service. We have used them twice now and have always felt in safe hands. They take our sometimes quirky requests in their stride.
