A follow up phone call the day after our initial on-line inquiry reflected the quality of customer service we came to rely on from McKinlay Kidd. We felt well looked after.

We worked with Tom from McKinlay Kidd.He put together a great trip. We communicated frequently by phone and email from the states during the planning process. When we arrived at our first hotel there was a welcome package in our room filled with everything we would need to make our vacation hassle free. The company also provides you with an app to download 3 weeks before your trip detailing the itinerary.

Memphis to Mull..a Marvelous Memory
McKinlay Kidd did a fantastic job planning a two week trip on very short notice. We began in Edinburgh, traveled to the Isle of Mull, explored Fort William, Portsoy, Aberdeenshire, and finished up in Aberdeen. The itinerary was a perfect balance of breathtaking scenery, culture, shopping, and outdoor exploration. We enjoyed finding unexpected surprises along the way - like the Walker's shortbread factory in Aberlour, a gem of a shop in Mull, ...

Caoimhe O'Brien crafted an excellent itinerary which included a variety of lodging experiences, all of them excellent, and provided tips and recommendations at each destination. The customer service she provided was impeccable -professional, prompt, and always friendly. McKinlay Kidd did all the work so we could focus on play.

The Grand Tour of Scotland was a dream holiday.
The trip exceeded our expectations. The lodgings we stayed at were gorgeous. We particularly enjoyed interacting with the owners and guests at the small hotels and B&B's. The breakfasts were excellent at all the lodgings. A few of our lodgings offered dinner. With the exception of one place, the food was top drawer. Scotland is a gorgeous country. We feel like we got an excellent chance to experience it in our three week tour.

The McKinlayKidd tour operators were wonderful to deal with. They were accessible at all hours and always very pleasant. The tour information they provided was extremely helpful as far as recommendations for restaurants and places to visit.

Stunning scenery, warm and welcoming people
This was an independent style trip by train from Edinburgh to the Highlands and back to Glasgow, with stops in Pitlochry, Inverness, the Isle of Skye, and Spean Bridge. MKK booked the accommodations (all lovely and convenient) and trains, including the Jacobite Steam Train.

North Coast 500 plus Orkneys
This was a tour which included 6 x 2 night stops through West, North and East Coasts of Scotland plus 2 of the Orkney Islands. Amazing countryside all through. Some fabulous accommodation. Wonderful friendly people everywhere we went. Weather variable as one would expect but as is credited to Billy Connolly ‘there’s no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothes’.

The organisation and suggestions were excellent. We were able to negotiate the pace we took for the holiday and places to explore. Documentation, including maps, itinerary summary and details with ideas for visits, and local brochures were available in hard copy and on an app. These were excellent.
