Scottish highlands are fabulous

from Pitlochry to the Isle of Skye to our last hotel by Loch Tay on roads less traveled, what a great experience with plenty of time to do our own thing as well the itinerary. all our accommodation was great and run by fabulous people

My Great Saga: Orkney and Shetland to myself in October

Bucket List places that more than met my expectations. Was not 100% so really appreciated the genuine care and service I received from the locals.

Since I did not want to drive arranged a Taxi Tour of Shetland at no expense to me. Thought this indicated an agency with a heart.

The best of England and Scotland by train

We travelled for nearly 6 weeks from London to Bath, Chester, Settle, Pooley Bridge, Glasgow, Spean Bridge, Arisaig, Portree, Thurso, Inverness, Aberdeen, Pitlochry, Haydon Bridge, York and back to London. All by train. We saw the best of each place with day tours in Bath, Lakes District, Skye, Orkneys and Hadrian’s Wall. It was amazing.

The itinerary details were very well organized. We didn't have to worry about transportation or accommodation and could concentrate on enjoying the experience.

The itinerary took us to parts of Scotland that we had not seen before. It was a lovely mix of urban and countryside.

Lovely area to explore over 8 days with wonderful big highlights that are known the world over. The people of Ireland , the food and the landscape made us feel right at home.

Outstanding and effortless

Fascinating neolithic archaeology, historic medieval castles and cathedral, stunning landscapes, quaint fishing villages in picturesque bays, welcoming and very friendly B&Bs with top facilities, great local seafood and lamb dishes, cosy pubs with great local real ale, Enough fine days to get out, walk and explore, enough grey days to keep warm indoors and read the Orkney Sagas. Brilliant!

Simply the best. We are normally independent travellers but as we were well into a 5 month self drive Africa trip, we looked for an easy option to organise our intended Orkney Shetland trip. McKinlay Kidd organised a custom itinerary built around our preferences and timeframe. A few easy emails and online payment sealed the deal from afar and all documentation was provided by the Vamoos App. McKinay Kidd's prompt friendly online communication and organisation provided an effortless first class experience for us.

Mckinlay Kidd was fantastic. Everything ran seamlessly. We spent 3 weeks traveling in Scotland by train. The trip was choreographed down to the smallest detail. We couldn't have asked for more. There was always someone to meet us and get us to the train or ferry. The day tours were fantastic and the accommodations were excellent. When we had a couple glitches in the arrangement, Mckinlay Kidd staff addressed the issue immediately. They were always there when needed them. In fact, when ScotRail changed the number of cars on selected routes creating an overcrowding situations, McKinlay Kidd sent a car to transport us to our next destination. They are a fantastic agency to work with.

Wonderful Experience!

We had the privilege of visiting Scotland and The Outer Hebrides for 2 weeks. What an absolutely breathtaking holiday!! We were amazed at every turn by the wonderful scenery and landscapes. So much for the senses to process!! Every twist and turn on the roads led us to pull over to stop and photograph and take in another beautiful sight. The landscape of the Outer Hebrides just beckons you to linger and bask in the natural beauty. McKinlay Kidd ...
