A tour of the outer Hebrides

The best we have used, caring and user frIendly

We have just spent 18 days touring the Outer Hebrides and then Orkney (with a couple of nights in Wester Ross then one in Caithness) we stayed in lovely hotels with really friendly ownders, we have eaten amazing food in these hotels and could not recommend it highly enough.

McKinlay Kidd are a hands on and personal tour operator - again, could not rate them highly enough. This is the fourth time we have used them and would definitely go back.

We spent 9 wonderful days exploring 4 of the Channel Islands - Guernsey, Sark, Herm, and Alderney. The care that Mckinlay Kidd took in organising the best excursions was very evident.

They planned a brilliant tour with different excursions for most days of the trip. And they were very responsive when fog meant our flight there had to be aborted and our arrival was delayed by a day.

Had a fantastic time in Scotland. The scenery! The people! The very pleasant weather! McKinley Kidd handled all of our trip requirements. In addition to the week in the Highlands by train they also made arrangements for us in Stirling and Edinburg. For our first trip to the UK, things could not have gone smoother. Very professional tour operator from start to finish. I will travel with them again.

McKinlay Kidd handled every detail of our trip. In addition to the 7-day rail tour they were able to customize several side trips for us so that we could see Stirling Castle and the Royal Edinburg Tattoo by arranging lodging and transportation for us.

Our holiday “Scotland by Train” was fantastic. The scenery, our hosts at Hotels, Guest houses were exceptional & so friendly.

We can’t say enough about Mckinlay Kidd. They organized our trip exceptionally well for us. We have shared our experiences with so many of our friends & given Mckinlay Kidd website to them.

Scotland was visited in a meticulously organised tour that brought us to highly enjoyed places. Cosy guesthouses, windy ferries, talkative taxi drivers and handy train trips made for an unforgettable fortnight on Highland level with the bagpipes still sounding in our ears!

“McKinlay Kidd” worked like a sort of spell that seemed to work like magic in connecting the beads of this journey’s string!

Really well organised tour.

Well chosen sites and an excellent tour leader. Even the weather and midges cooperated.

Stayed in Tobermory at Highland Cottage for 4 nights to do 2 wildlife tours - unfortunately the whale watching was cancelled due to bad weather (one thing you can't control is the weather!) but the land wildlife tour MORE THAN MADE UP for that.. We had a wonderful break.

We have travelled with McKinlay Kidd before (by train around Scotland) and had no hesitation in choosing therm for this trip to Mull. Everything was brilliantly organised as usual.
