The wide skies of Northumberland

We had a wonderful time on our trip to Northumberland in September, arranged for us by McKinlay Kidd. The accommodation was very suitable, in Wark and Belford, and the trips were really well chosen and thoroughly enjoyable. We saw the night sky through a large telescope with an enthusiastic astronomer at Battlesteads; we walked Hadrian's Wall for the day with a fantastic Celtic guide; and we loved our trip around the Farne Islands where we were privileged to see many grey seals and a variety of seabirds up close.

A novel and unique exploration of the Chanel Islands

This holiday was put together in a way that enabled me to explore Jersey, Guernsey, Herm, Sark and Alderney over ten rewarding days. Travel was done by a unique combination of walking, driving, horse and carriage, tractor, planes and ferries! The guided walks were such a wonderful enhancement of the experience . Yet, the carefully-chosen boutique luxury hotels ensured plenty of down time as well.

Emerald Isle

It fulfilled my wife (Susan's) lifelong desire to visit Ireland and expanded both our experience and knowledge of a unique corner of Europe.

McKinlay jacobs steam train holiday

Had an amazing 2 nights in a beautiful bed and breakfast for my husbands 50th birthday. We stayed opposite a Loch in Fort William. Enjoyed a lovely 2 hour steam train journey taking in beautiful scenery including the famous bridge that was used in Harry Potter movie. Lunch provided on the trip was beautiful.

An Enchanting Tour of Scotland

We had an amazing time exploring Scotland. The scenery was beautiful, the people were charming, the food was delicious. We had a few favourite spots to which we would be particularly eager to return, but we also appreciated the variety of towns and villages we got to see; it really felt like we got to sample a little bit of everything that Scotland had to offer. As soon as we got home, we started daydreaming about our next visit!

McKinlay Kidd handled all of the logistics so that we could focus on enjoying our trip. The accommodations they booked were all wonderful, and they provided a wide range of recommendations for restaurants, points of interest, and activities for each stop along the tour -- we were never at a loss for what to do next! They were also quite helpful with a couple of the questions and requests we had leading up to the holiday, providing great customer service all around.

Working with Daniela was a pleasure and all the arrangements were great; the Vamoos app made it easy to keep all the information accessible whilst on the move. Train and ferry tickets were easy to collect, taxis arrived in all sorts of places when they said they would, hotels were good and our rooms were as we had requested. We always felt like we were in safe hands and knew that if we had any questions whilst travelling, McKinlay Kidd were just a phone call away. Would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Scotland.

Isle of Mull Add on

The goal: Loch Buie. Stayed in Tobermory at Linndhu House. Gracious, beautiful, comfortable setting & hosts. Took a while, but we found our destination. Got great info from our travel agent. Wish we could have done & retained it all.

SCOTLAND, West Highlands from Glasgow

Our trip to the West Highlands of Scotland was an unforgettable experience that we had looked forward to for our entire lives. We loved the natural beauty, the Scottish people, our small tour group and our guide.

Our guide was the best! He was funny, knowledgeable, kind and caring. He knew lots of history and told many stories (as he said “maybe true, maybe not!”) and he took excellent care of us.
