A well planned, informative and enjoyable pilgrimage.

It was a Christian pilgrimage to Biblical sites in Turkey. I have travellled with McCabe before and they have always been reliable. We learned a lot, accommodation and foood were mostly good.

Pilgriamage to Holy Land and Jordan

We were well looked after in confortable hotels and well fed in the restaurants selected for lunch these serving, in some cases, reflecting local eating styles. During the day we were shown around by local guide who had an execelent knowledg of the history of the area and were happy to share their own experience and thoughts (whilst making it obvious they were personal thoughts) giving some insight to what it is like to live in the area. This as a truely memorable holdiday.

They were present at the airports and border crossings to ensure that these caused the least possible problems. A really good programme was organised and they kept their eye on the situation: the program was modified due to security risks whilst we were in the Holy Land. Despite the tensions in the area I never felt I was in danger, but was aware of the tensions. Hotels and restauarants were also well chosen. They also offer a good insurance policy.

PIlgrimage to Turkey, to Cappadocia and following the footsteps of Paul

Saw an amazing range of sights - from fanstastic landscapes of Cappadocia through the Taurus Mountains to the south coast; visited archaeological sites which were almost overpowering in their completeness and the 'pictures' they gave to illustrate Biblical text; the trip made the Bible come alive - jump off the pages and enhanced my understanding of the early days of the growth of the Christian faith enjoyed good company of fellow pilgrims (most ...

The opportunity to have a hot-air balloon ride was a wonderful bonus!

Do appreciate the efficiency of the administration of the whole booking system - no problems whatsoever.

An interesting, enjoyable trip travelling with likeminded people following in the footsteps of St. Paul

An enthusiastic and knowledgable guide, pleasant company, our lovely leader all helped to make our exploration of St. Paul's journeys in Greece something really special. Highlights were little services and readings at different venues, the welcome at the convent in Larissa, seeing the Meteora monasteries for first time, the stunning museum in Athens, paddling at Corinth, eating our meals on the rooftop of our hotel in Kavala ....

The tour put together by McCabe Travels was very good because of the quality of the guide, places he chose for us to stop and the pleasant company of fellow travellers. It was not all perfect as the Holiday Inn was not as good as the others in that it looked tired and not everything worked.

A wonderful trip, full of wonder to a place I had little previous knowledge of except from what I learnt at school.

The holiday took us by coach with an excellent guide from Thessaloniki in the north of Greece down to Athens in the south Via the Meteora monasteries in central Greece. We were travelling in the footsteps of St Paul and so stopped at some fascinating historical sites where he had converted the inhabitants to Christianity with varying success! We covered about 800 miles across fertile valleys and up arid mountains with the most amazing views.

Pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi and Ravenna

Too many people in Rome and siting of hotel not good - too far out of city. Assisi too busy - we should not have gone on the day commemorating the death of St Francis - too many people. Ravenna excellent.

Rating for tour operator:

Insufficient local knowledge. Timings of visits should have been different as we very often visited churches when a service was either taking place or about to begin. We should not have visited the Vatican museum etc on the afternoon of the day the Pope holds an audience - we should have gone early on another morning when there would probably have been less people.

A little hectic but most enjoyable.

It was a pilgrimage in the footsteps of St Paul, so our group moved around to four cities and four different hotels, it was a little hectic. This was however, over a period of eight days and there was a little free time too. The sights were interesting and our guide was very knowledgeable and thoughtful. The hotels were excellent. In fact the whole experience was a joy!

I appreciated being able to join the group in Greece and McCabe were most helpful in this. Having travelled with McCabe four times now, I have always found them to be excellent pilgrimages, well organised, with good quality hotels, guides and coach drivers. I shall certainly travel with them again.

More than a holiday: a time of inner renewal

It was a pilgrimage called "In the Steps of St Paul", so it included archaeological and historical sites, both Christain and pagan, as well as beautiful scenery and hospitable cities.
