As good as ever

We toured Greece on a pilgrimage following St. Paul's journey and visited sites where he would have been as well as monasteries and ancient Greek sites. With an excellent guide this was a great experience

A well planned itinerary which was easily manageable. Access to all the appropriate sites which enabled us to relax and enjoy the whole experience. Much better than anything we could have done as independent travellers. The opportunity to float in the Dead Sea, walk in the River Jordan and sail and swim in the Sea of Galilee were all highlights of the holiday. To be able to walk the Stations of the Cross in Jerusalem feeling totally safe in the crowded bustle of the narrow streets was an important part of the experience.

A well thought out programme with an excellent local tour guide made the whole experience enjoyable.The local coach company used were also excellent, our coach was cleaned every day, provided fresh water, onboard WiFi and journeys were both comfortable and air-conditioning appropriate. The chosen hotels, meal venues were all of excellent quality and overall this trip was excellent value for money. I would thoroughly recommend McCabe Pilgrimages (and have already) as an excellent way to see and experience the Holy Land in safety and comfort.

McCabe Pilgrimages organised an interesting holiday with a variety of places of interest on route. The leader from York was excellent and prepared appropriate bible readings for the places visited. The Guide in Greece was excellent with a depth of knowledge which she relayed in a understandable way, without notes. The driver was also excellent, having some very difficult turns to make on the way up and down the mountains. The hotels were of good standing and excellent food. Very enjoyable holiday.

The initial booking of the holiday was hassle free. However, the airline changed its flights and we had to travel to Stansted, instead of Manchester, on the outward journey. McCabe paid an amount towards the cost of the coach and then provided a buffet lunch at the Airport in a lounge. This was very much appreciated and allowed the group to use the lounge until the gate opened. The remainder of the holiday was well organised with nothing untoward to report.

Our pilgrimage to the Holy Land was an amazing experience. Not only were we able to visit many sites associated with the life of Jesus but our guide was very informative about the general history, social situations and politics of the area. It was a good balance of the serious , the Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, for example and relaxation with swimming in the Dead Sea and the Sea of Galilee and shopping . Our guide and driver were first class, the guide was very knowledgable and had an excellent sense of humour and was a pleasure to be with. Arrangements wewre adapted seamlessly as needed.

McCabe Pilgrimages have very good contacts and were able to alter our programme to fit our interests and offer specific visits in the light of the experience of our leader.

This was a wonderful opportunity to see the sites of the Holy Land with a small friendly christian group led by a well informed tour guide. As well as staying in Jerusalem, we were able to experience life in the Palestinian quarter first hand and visited a camp where we cooked a meal with Palestinian women in Bethlehem. We travelled extensively throughout Israel from Massada in the Judean desert to the Sea of Galilee in the North. It was fascinating to meet all the different people in what was a thought provoking experience that made this holiday unique.

I have travelled with McCabe Pilgrimages twice now. They are efficient and one feels completely confident that should any issue arise, that this would be dealt with. I would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone.

It was 10 days of amazing sights and experiences. We could never have fitted all that in if travelling on one's own. The Holy Land is a complex and fascinating place to visit on so many levels. We had an excellent guide and driver and stayed in some lovely hotels where we were able to relax after the information packed days.
