The trip was extraordinarily well organized with lots of very informative background reading materials provided beforehand. The hotel and meals provided were of a high standard. Our guide was not only academically very well qualified but also very cheerful and attentive.

A day tour to see the great Railway termini in London. Involved walking to Paddington, kings cross and St Pancras and included lunch and refreshments.

Martin Randall was very professional, sent notes and itinery beforehand and gave regular email updates before the tour. The tour guide was an expert and very interesting.

It was not so much a holiday as an experience. I went there to learn and, boy, did the group learn! It removed us from the comfort of our European way of thinking, showing a succession of cultures which reached amazing standards in construction, textiles, ceramics and metal work to emphasise the complexity and creativity of human civilisation removed from what is familiar to Europeans. It was hard work but so worth it. The travel company looked after us so well and the group mingled exceptionally well. I wish I was back there!

Without being rushed we spent 5 full days seeing an enormous number of Palladian buildings in the Veneto with a group of 22 people, commentary by an architectural historian and a fantastic tour operator from Martin Randall

This was my first time traveling with a group to see and experience the architecture of Andrea Palladio. I am an architect and could not have been more impressed by all aspects of the trip: what we saw, our hotel, the meals we had together and the balance of organized and free time -- all in 5 ½ days using Vicenza as our base.

Well run tour

It was well organised with excellent educational content. We had a full itinerary and saw properties we would not otherwise have seen. It was the first such tour we had been on but would now be happy to do another

Martin Randall were very well organised and entry to many villas in private and public ownership was arranged, the coach service was punctual clean and with a good driver who did not sway the coach and cause any sickness . The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the administrator was both very pleasant and well organised in keeping us to programme so it did not feel like a school trip.

This was a study tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum led by Dr. Nigel Spivey for Martin Randall. It was an incredible week!! The weather was fabulous which was really icing on the cake. We visited Paestum, Cumae, the theatre of Pozzuoli, a fabulous museum at Bacoli, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, and the National Museum at Naples where our lecturer made arrangements for the Numismatics to be opened for us. Each morning, Dr. Spivey treated us to interesting and engaging lectures before we visited the sites. He added insights and information as we made our way through the sites. He was an engaging lecturer and a wonderful tour leader who got to know our names immediately, looked out for our well being, entertained us at dinner and treated us as though we were one of the family! How often is a tour led by a Classicist of his calibre!! I will very happily go on any tour led by Dr. Spivey!!

This is the second tour I have taken with Martin Randall and it is clear that he overlooks nothing to endure a trip of the very highest quality. Participants never have to worry about anything because he anticipates every difficulty and plans for all contingencies! For this tour, he secured Dr. Nigel Spivey, an extraordinary lecturer, and a noted Classicist from Cambridge who elevated this from a tour to an exceptional learning opportunity for us all. It is clear Martin Randall sets the industry standard for a quality tour!

This was a holiday I have being wanting to do for thirty years. I finally managed to arrange to do it with my wife last year. Martin Randall were clearly offering the best trip and they were superb.

Martin Randall were excellent at all stages of the tour from booking through to travel to running the tour. My wife is wary of organised tours but she really enjoyed this one.
