We traveled through the Balkans, visiting places of interest. We spent time in areas that were affected by the recent wars. We also visited some of the old monasteries in Serbia.

This tour operator provides an excellent travel experience. From the original booking right through to the confirmation and sending of documents, the administration is faultless. The tour itself is managed by a very efficient person, who deals with any problems "on the road", and makes sure that everyone's needs are catered for. There is also a lecturer who provides the intellectual input. Visits to places of interest are supplemented by stimulating lectures. The lecturers are not just knowledgeable, but they are also pleasant companions. On completion of the tour, participants are encouraged to fill in a questionnaire, and make any comments that could be helpful for subsequent tours. If significant, they are often acted upon. They may also contact the participant to clarify a particular area of concern.

A tour of Moscow and the Golden Ring - pictures, places, churches, monasteries - researched, managed and run with great efficiency and knowledge. Delightful lecturer, tour manager and local guides, excellent hotels, meals etc. All managed with sympathy and care by experts.

Cultural tours, relatively intensive, but catering for people who want to learn about the country that they are visiting at some depth. A tour operator that really knows what it is doing and does it to the highest possible standards.

This is a two week tour involving four Balkan countries and there are some heavy walking and heavy coach days, but it is well worth it to travel around this fascinating and recently much troubled part of Europe. Elizabeth Roberts is an excellent lecturer and our tour manager was very efficient and friendly. I liked Zagreb for its cafe society and small centre and would have loved to have spent more time in Sarajevo which is a fascinating east meets west city. The frescoes in the Serbian monasteries were stunning.

I've been very impressed with the quality of the tours and will certainly book with MRT again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

We visited amazing places which otherwise I would have found very difficult to access. The buildings were spectacular and the Russian countryside is beautiful. Russian people were also so friendly and Moscow is a fabulous city.

MRT organises everything down to the last detail and although this was the first time they had run this tour, it was excellent.
