dreadful

Unfortunately i was paired up with someone who snored all night meaning i got no sleep. When i highlighted this to KE Adventures i was met with no sympathy or empathy. I was told i had to foot the bill for a single rooms even though my hand was forced. Lake Atitlan accommodation was fully booked which meant i had to spend two nights in the same room as the snorer which i wasn't going to tolerate. KE Adventures could've offered some compromise ...

KE Adventures could've offered some compromise or subsidy and rejected my idea going forward about vetting people who snored. So this problem will no doubt arise again. I am blogging my round the world trip and have highlighted this complaint and KE Adventures poor handling of it on my public blog. Next time I'll use Exodus

KE Adventure Travel responded to this review on 07 Jan 2016:

Dear Brian,

We do sympathise that you were kept awake by your room mate. When you contacted us about this and told us you wished to have a single room for the rest of your trip, we immediately contacted our ground agent to discuss this situation and they contacted all of the hotels and guesthouses on your itinerary to book a single room for you wherever one was available. Bearing in mind that this was the Christmas period and peak season for tourists in Guatemala, availability was limited, but we managed to secure single rooms for you in all but one of the hotels. As you knew when you booked, our holidays are costed on the basis that two people share a room although we do offer pre-booked single rooms for a supplementary charge. In your case you would have just paid the actual charges levied by the hotels to change you from twin share to a single room. Fortunately this is not a problem we come across very often, and hopefully the majority of people who are aware they snore, would arrange for a single room when booking the trip.

A great time experiencing the culture and scenery of Ethiopia

This was a two part trip, split into three parts. We trekked in the Simien mountains and saw some wonderful scernery and also experienced the culture of Ethiopia in Addis, Gondar and Lalibela.

Amazing trek to Annapurna base camp

The trek ran through the Annapurna sanctuary, to Poon Hill, and ultimately to Annapurna base camp. The views were spectacular. The crew and my fellow hikers were all quite friendly. I'd definitely recommend hiking to Annapurna Base Camp!

This is the second trip I've done with KE. I'm incredibly busy with work, so it has been invaluable for me to have a company I can trust to take care of all the details and ensure everything runs safely and smoothly. I only have two treks (Kilimanjaro/Meru and Annapurna sanctuary trek) to base my opinion on, but I think KE runs worry-free and hassle-free trips.

Edge of the Sahara Trek by Crow, 23 Dec 2015

Fantastic Sahara adventure

I recently returned from 3+ months of travel, during which I did the Edge of Sahara trek with KE Adventures. I was lucky enough to see many countries and get in a lot of great hiking, but the Sahara trip was the absolute highlight. I was lucky enough to see many countries and get in a lot of great hiking, but the Sahara trip was the absolute highlight. It was well organized, demanding without being too demanding, and offered some of the most gorgeous hiking I've experienced anywhere. The food was excellent, the weather neither too hot nor too cold, and the tents and sleeping mats very comfortable. Trekking with camels meant carrying only daypacks and water, which kept the individual loads very do-able. Even the long drives to and from our starting point were interesting, giving the chance to see the Atlas and anti-Atlas mountains. Highly recommended.

KE kept things very organized and were very pleasant to deal with, reminding me when I needed to get them insurance and flight info, and handling trip extensions and shuttles with no hiccups.

Ethiopia, Simien Mountains Trek by sck, 8 Dec 2015

Expectations thoroughly exceeded.

It was my first group holiday, first trekking holiday & first guided holiday so I was quite nervous. The group, the guide & the trekking was all better than I had hoped for. It was an amazing holiday.

Excellent cultural and walking tour to Myanmar

Stunning country , impressive golden Pagodas , Temples and Buddhas , lovely people . Thoroughly enjoyed the whole trip despite quite a lot of travelling - but most of long distances were done by air which helped greatly. Fascinating agriculture and traditional ways . Beautiful beach extension .

fantastic cycling through a beautiful country

A cycling trip from Saigon to Hanoi. The trip was well organised and involved cycling, flying, boat trips, over night sleeper trains, various hotels, beautiful scenery, friendly people, tasty food and a brilliant experience of a completely different way of life to our own.

Professional throughout giving very helpful advice and information. They work with very good "in country" land agents who provide a very good quality service. They work to very high standards. They offer the unique service of having slide shows available of each trip if you visit their office in Keswick. It helps to make informed choices about trips

A trip of a lifetime

I went to Morocco to trek through the anti-atlas mountains and summit Jebel Sirwa. It was a well organised, well paced, well thought out and put together trip. The trip leader and crew (cook and muleteers) were professional, fun loving, flexible and approachable to the needs of the clients. A week in the end wasn't long enough and I wanted ...

Rating for tour operator:

They specialise in adventure trips and provide comprehensive, useful pre-trip information. The office staff are happy to help with any queries you may have and are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about all aspects of their trips. The price includes all meals so you know what the total final cost will be without any unpleasant hidden costs or suprises.
