An excellent hiking trip in the Bulgarian Mountains

I travelled with KE Adventure Travel to Bulgaria on a week's hiking holiday in the Rila and Pirin mountain ranges. We were led by an excellent local mountain leader who had great knowledge of the routes and knew how to pace the group to make the most of every hike. The hotel/guesthouse accommodation and food throughout were great and the holiday included one night in a mountain hut in a gorgeous setting in the Pirin mountains.

KE Adventure Travel was very easy to book with. The online booking system and follow-on 'MY KE' section make it easy to provide details relevant to the trip and understand payments outstanding. When I had additional questions, the office staff were very helpful.

STUNNING TREK IN THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS

Wow! What an experience! It's very challenging, yet rewarding trek. Unforgettable scenery from every mountain pass, village and valley. It is advisable to do some training before this one, to enjoy it to the full. The guide and the cook were fantastic. Any meal during the trek was miles better than anything served in the hotel restaurant before the trek. The gite at the end of the trek is fabulous, such a reward after long distances, ascents ...

Holiday packed with fun at an enjoyable pace.

This trip was very well organised and the Guide knew his duties very well. There was no fuss and no hassle. Every detail had been worked out. The pace was set by the Guide to suit all the participants and every one was able to enjoy the trek. We never felt under pressure and the route and transfers were well worked out. The trek was fully supported and our luggage was always at our destination before us.

Julian Alps Jamboree - Family Ad by MamaMax, 30 Aug 2016

Family adventure holiday

We had a family adventure holiday in the Julian Alps in Slovenia. There were lots of new activities for us to try (rock climbing, summer tobogganing, white water rafting as well as familiar activities such as walking and cycling. There was the perfect balance between activity and time to relax to enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Multi-activity Family Adventure by Cloud9leeds, 30 Aug 2016
Holiday Rating:

Great country, trip spoiled by awful cycling and poor hotel.

The trip was very interesting and the weather was great, however the cycling element was organised on rusty 20+ year old bikes on a route highly unsuitable for a family group. The hotel was a Fawlty Towers affair, amusing, but not in the slightest bit professional.

KE Adventure Travel responded to this review on 30 Aug 2016:

Thank you for your review and we are glad that you found the trip interesting with great weather. We are sorry that you didn't enjoy the cycling day. As you know, a KE representative was on your trip and discussed the route in detail with our agent following your ride. Most of our families really love the hotel in Zakopane which we agree is quite unique, but we are sorry that this was not to your liking.
