Spectacular but not good lodging !

Beautiful experience in the remote villages of E. Greenland. Nothing like seeing your first Iceberg ! Boat rides through the fjords were spectacular. Good hiking. Bad Lodging.

Rating for tour operator:

Although I booked this with KE Adventure, I believe this is NOT a KE tour. The Tour Operator is in fact Icelandic Mountain Guides. KE is just a broker although KE presented it as it is theirs. I had travelled on other KE trips before (and also Exodus) so I know what am talking about. Nonetheless, the trip was great except for the lodging condition which was horrible (crowded, no running water toilette except for Tallisaq )

KE Adventure Travel responded to this review on 25 Sep 2017:

Thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you thought this was a beautiful experience. We have worked hard over the past years developing this itinerary with our partners at Icelandic Mountain Guides. This tour is one of KE’s ‘Explore International’ range of trips about which, we say: “Participants on these trips can book through KE or through one of our international partners. This helps us to gather together sufficient numbers of like-minded adventurers to get your holiday up and running quickly. Led by an English-speaking guide, the cosmopolitan nature of these groups can be an important part of the experience!” The advantages of booking through KE is that you benefit from our AITO bonding, as well as access to our extremely knowledgeable travel consultants. We are sorry that the nature of this tour came as a surprise to you and also that you were not prepared for the hut experience, which is part of a visit to Greenland. We hope that the other aspects of the trip you have mentioned, more than made up for this.

If you want to explore the beautiful scenery of Moroccos Toubkal national park whilst eating traditional food and having some amazing views then this is the trip for you. Starting and ending in Marrakech gives you a week to explore and experience city life and the rural sides of this amazing country. The trekking is comfortable but challenging in a week which exposes some spectacular scenery! The people are friendly and welcoming with the support teams all more than welcoming and willing you to have amazing experiences. Meeting others whilst trekking gives way to typical friendly hellos and other guides always looking to celebrate, smile and generally looking to you having a great experience. The food is fresh, filling and always colourful. Mint tea with sugar always at each meal helps to start your taste buds moving :) If your looking for a new experience of trekking in a different country outside of your normal surroundings then give this a whirl. Value for money on this trip is outstanding and unbelievable that what you are getting doesn't cost more than being charged. The hotel in Marrakech adds a pleasing start and end to a week in tents and a Gite. You won't be disappointed! Book now!!!

Easy, pleasant and simple to deal with. The website does most of the work for you but they were helpful if I needed to understand anything further. More than happy to book with KE again and this was my first experience. Already considering booking with them again :)

Best of the Tour du Mont Blanc by Beth, 15 Sep 2017

Wondrful adventure, great community of fellow hikers fantastic scenery!

We did a subset of the tour du Mon Blanc but made a circle around the moutnatin and stayed in hotels. We had great weather (always helps) to see the mountains. O cohesive group who shred all their life stories and a great guide.

Lake Como and St Moritz by Rufus, 13 Sep 2017

Trekking with views that made me think i was in heaven when the clouds rolled in

The trip was a hiking holiday in the Lake Como Region and also in St. Moritz. For me this was a trip of a lifetime and one made especially great due to our very knowledgeable guide Furio. He was attentive to each group member and worked well helping us whether we had questions about the region, the hiking route, vegetation or the geology; Furio was well read in all areas. He was attentive to each group member and worked well helping us whether we had questions about the region, the hiking route, vegetation or the geology; Furio was well read in all areas. The hikes that we did daily were done at an easy pace, that said the duration was a little longer than most of us in the trip expected and we all agreed that the trip might be better of with a slightly higher rating. I loved every day and have not a single complaint. Luckily everyone in the group was fit and able to complete the hikes each day. There were a couple sections in Italy and also Switzerland where the drop offs that we walked along were a tiny bit steep so it is important that one doesn't have a fear of heights. The views were truly spectacular and I would recommend this trip to anyone who loves a physical challenge. I managed the trails just fine and I have a torn ACL. Most of the footpaths are level and not very technical. The hotel in Bellagio was lovely and close walking distance to the shops and ferry. In St. Moritz the Hostel was well above what I was expecting. The hostel is not like any Hostel I have ever stayed in and was extremely clean. The only negative about the Hostel would be that there was only wifi in the lobby but on the plus side it then brought us all together again for apres hike cocktails and much needed downtime. The buffet breakfast at both accommodations was great. Over all, anyone who wants to trek these parts, don't hesitate. I am so glad I found KE and this tour.

KE was great from my first communication with questions about my ability to complete certain holidays they offer to the final details helping me book my train from St. Moritz back to Milan. They were friendly, informative and their response time was quick.

Jam-packed experience

There's so much one could write about our Thailand experience, it's really hard to know where to begin. The whole family (two adults, one 14-yo girl, one 11y boy) loved it! I think it definitely helped that we were lucky to travel alongside many other like-minded people, we all got along tremendously and had a lot of fun, with adults generally travelling together, ditto for the kids. I think it definitely helped that we were lucky to travel alongside many other like-minded people, we all got along tremendously and had a lot of fun, with adults generally travelling together, ditto for the kids. Our guide (known affectionately as 'Nok') was brilliant, like Google on legs, the depth of her local knowledge about all things Thai was boundless, and her attention to detail and energy levels helped ensure everything went like clock-work (no small feat when in charge of about 16 people!). The heat was fine, the jungle trek was perfectly do-able, and we barely registered any mosquitoes during our entire stay. Three things I would suggest altering: the bamboo raft journey was definitely too long at 3 hours straight; we needed some stops en route, and/or cushions, it was so uncomfortable by the end (also, remember to advise participants to wear water gear)! Secondly - laundry: no matter how carefully everyone packed (and I know I personally brought too much gear), we still all ended up having to book in an unscheduled visit to the launderette once we all returned to Bangkok after the 3-day jungle trek. Add one to future itineraries! And finally, the 7-Tiered Waterfall visit; it was a beautiful location, and I recall on the day we all wanted to stay longer than we were able to, but time ran out and we were forced to exit a lot sooner than we wanted to; bake some more time in to the travel itinerary to enjoy it ! Small quibbles all told. Book it, you won't regret it. PS We added on a 4-day extension to Ko Samed island; this was amazing, if you can do likewise I'd recommended it, especially after travelling so much, it was fantastic to just chill out, swim, have numerous massages, do some para-sailing, enjoy the fine dining etc.

The whole booking process was smooth & efficient, and making adjustments online later was easy to do.

This holiday had it all!

When friends and family ask which part of the holiday I liked the best, it's impossible to choose. Swimming in breathtaking waterfalls, trekking in jungle forests, staying in both high class hotels and local village huts, markets, cycling, longtail boats and bamboo rafts, incredible freshly-cooked food, new language and culture, new friends....it's all 'the best' bit. But what really made the holiday as memorable and fun as it was were the group of wonderful people we were with and the incredible guide, Nok, who's enthusiasm, tireless attention and gentle 'parenting' meant I could relax and fully appreciate all the wonders before me. I can't wait to go again!

Rating for tour operator:

It's hard to know if the ease at which we moved from one activity or location to the next was due to the local guide or the tour operator, but it was exemplary. Everything went according to plan, and the plan was exactly as we had been told on the website before booking. I had no trouble booking, or finding the right holiday for my family with guidance from KE adventures. Would definitely use them again.

Great trip to a stunning part of Norway

The trip, organised through KE, using a local subsidiary, was extremely well organised, with stunning scenery and beautiful walking. The leaders were unfailingly helpful and informative. The accommodation and food were very good, although we were served whale meat on one occasion, which was really the only major disappointment of the trip.

KE seems very efficient and friendly, with no problems at all- the whole holiday, from booking to return home, ran like clockwork, and was just as advertised.
