Having visited Japan previously on a wildlife tour - which was excellent - but which did not spent any time in any of the cultural sights, I wanted to find a tour which filled in the gaps of my experience plus I also wanted to visit Japan at Cherry blossome time. My All-In Japan trip fulfilled all my expectations and I landed in Tokyo on the main cherry blossom weekend so was able t experinece the festival alongside the locals. Aour tour took in Tokyo, Hiroshima and Kyoto where we undertook a variety of visits and experiences - all of which were well thought out - ranging from tea with a geisha to a drumming lesson. Food and accommodation were both excellent and I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience a flavour of Japan

The traditional meals were so delicious. Such an amazing public transport system in Japan, even in the rural areas. The people are very friendly and helpful even when they do not speak English they still try to help! We had a group of 12 from England, Australia, Holland and USA. The tour provided us with experiences which would not be experienced on other tours. The Tour Leader provided us with a wonderful understanding and appreciation of Buddhism. He spoke fluent Japanese and took us to his favourite restaurants in the places we visited. A highlight of the tour was a night staying in a Buddhist Temple at Mt Koya. Also a visit to the village of Joge where we were followed by a TV Crew from Hiroshima. We learnt Kendo from the children in the village and the local shop owners were keen to sell us their wares. The visit to the Iya Valley included an unexpected visit to the Hashikuraji Temple where we discovered 88 icons representing the 88 temples of Japan. We experienced the Japanese culture through the places we visited and the food we ate. I enjoyed travelling on public transport as opposed to travelling in a coach.

Our Tour Operator was outstanding. His knowledge of Buddhism was extensive and provided us with an extensive understanding of the religion. His organisation was excellent. He was funny and very entertaining. He managed the individual personalities of the group extremely well, ensuring we all got on well together. He went out of his way to arrange meals for those of us with dietary requirements.

Booked accommodation and transport with Inside Japan for an independent week based in Kyoto. I wanted to see temples and temple gardens and cherry blossom, and stay in a traditional ryokan. My travel advisor listened carefully to my desires and booked me a perfect package: room in Tokyo on first and last night, with shuttle from and to the airport; 5 nights in Kyoto in just about the most perfect ryokan imaginable, set in bamboo and a garden in the eastern hills of Kyoto accessed by walking through Maruyama Park. Cherry blossom came early this year, so although in bud on my arrival, by the last few days I was dazzled by weeping cherry blossom in Kyoto and Tokyo's Sumida Park, just round the corner from my hotel. The guys running the ryokan gave the best service I have ever experienced (and I've stayed in some upmarket hotel claiming personal attention), welcoming me home each time with offers of hot bath, iced tea, rest. Inside Japan made my brief first stay in Japan as easy and perfect as it could be, all the briefings really helped me settle in and I knew there was someone at the end of telephone or e-mail who would respond immediately. Just brilliant!

I e-mailed Inside Japan with an outline of what I was looking for in a one week visit to Japan. Inside Japan's travel advisor then listened over the telephone to my more detailed hopes and desires. Rapidly she put together a perfect itinerary, sent out paper briefings and access to them on the web portal so that I could read at leisure or take with me on my iPad. Everything was well organised and well communicated, and I left feeling excited and ready for the experience. While in Japan, I was able to reach my advisor by e-mail - and I had a phone number I could have used, too - and she responded immediately. Inside Japan offered me a personalised and efficient service that I would use again if travelling in the east.

A small group holiday in Hidden Japan- well thought out itinerary, outstanding tour leader and a wonderful group. We had our best holiday so far. We learnt so much about Japan- the history, culture, religions(especially Buddhism), people, food, etc etc. Added bonus was that we were there for the peak of the cherry blossom. We could not have had a better holiday.

I went on the Hidden Japan tour and it was an incredible experience. I hesitate to say there was a favourite moment because there was many. The majority are unable to be compared. I loved that we were able to see parts of Japan untrodden by tourists. It made us understand the countries culture and give a deeper respect for the people’s customs. The additional information about the countries past history and current affairs along the way also increased made me want to know more about this lovely country. Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing, enjoyable and satisfying holiday.

Inside Japan is the most well organised tour company I’ve used. They think of every little thing to make sure that your holiday goes off without a hitch.
