A magical trip through the various identities of Japan
My wife and i chose to tour Japan as our honeymoon. As enthusiasts of Japanese animation and food we were introduced to so many new aspects of the country through each region we visited. The phrase only in Japan comes to mind with great positive force. We loved every minute.

Inside Japan took special care to include us in all details and really understand us as a couple. The whole american branch was extremely relatable and helpfu to a pair of first time travelers. We practically view them as family now!

Excellent holiday, incredible sites, beautiful accomodation. I would highly reccommend.
We visited beautiful Kyoto, Tokyo, traditional Takayama and the hot springs of Hakone. We then flew down to Ishigaki before returning to Tokyo for mind blowing sumo!

Enchanting Japan
I took a 15 day tour with Inside Japan Tours where we visited 7 cities. The country is beautiful, the history is fascinating and the people are charming and welcoming, and the food - WOW!

Inside Japan not only created a wonderful itinerary with varied activities, they provided seamless logistics and thought of everything like what direction the hotel rooms faced so we had the best views, to which side of the train we sat at in order to again have the best views. They thought of everything! Our guide was a true insider, being a Brit who has lived in Japan for over a decade and is married to a Japanese woman. His insight and willingness to share details about his life gave us an opportunity to dig deeper into life in Japan. I highly recommend this operator, top rate!

Nature, Japanese Tradition, and Convenience/Peace of Mind
I am so happy that I booked a self-guided Kumano Kodo tour with Inside Japan Tours. My tour was a 5-day advanced hiking module from Takijiri-oji to Kii-Katsuura, with accommodations beforehand in Osaka, and afterwards in Tokyo. My total price also included most meals, and an airport shuttle to the airport on my last day in Tokyo. No other transportation was included since I had a JR pass. I was apprehensive about the price at the beginning but it was well worth it for the convenience and peace of mind. I know that I would have been too stressed out to book accommodations on my own, even despite how English-friendly the Tanabe tourist centre is. The service that I received from my consultant was exceptional. She kept me informed every step of the way and she was super friendly. The experience of walking along the Kumano Kodo, being in nature, and spending the evenings in traditional Japanese guesthouses (with delectable traditional meals) was the experience of a lifetime.

Inside Japan Tours - I was very satisfied with the tour operator. They provided me with a ton of information beforehand, and personalized maps and bus route information once I arrived at Tanabe for the first day of my hike. I had complete peace of mind and didn't feel any uncertainty about my hike, despite the fact that I was on my own.

Inside Asia supplied us with a great holiday. Our Operator, Kester organised a bespoke tour for us with great efficiency. All the hotels we stayed at were great in their own individual way. all our pre-booked guides were extremely helpful and knowledgable. Japan itself was fantastic and we had a great time.

Japan in a wheelchair
My husband (wheelchair user) and I have just travelled in Japan, we went from Tokyo - Kyoto - Hiroshima - Osaka - Yokahama - Tokyo. We had a magnificent time and were amazed at how accessible and wheelchair friendly it actually is. Would highly recommend it and hopefully we can return someday to explore even more.

WONDERFUL INSIGHT INTO REAL JAPAN
Wherever we went the Japanese were helpful. With minimal spoken English, and no Japanese on our part, we arrived at Tokyo Shinjuku Station looking totally bemused and a beautiful young Japanese lady went out of her way to get us where we were heading and everywhere we went people were helpful and kind. With minimal spoken English, and no Japanese on our part, we arrived at Tokyo Shinjuku Station looking totally bemused and a beautiful young Japanese lady went out of her way to get us where we were heading and everywhere we went people were helpful and kind. We experienced the cities and the countryside from Koya San to the beaufifully renewed city of Hiroshima, as well as Kyoto, Hakone and many places between. We resided in various Ryokan, and Buddhist temple lodging, as well as hotels. We were treated to many different aspects of Japan and its secrets. A dance performace at Awa Odori Kaikan Museum where they involved us on stage; Awa Jurobe Yashiki puppet theatre which was a very moving gift; an introduction to a beautiful, graceful young Maiko; and a very special welcome into the peaceful village of Joge where their Kabuki Theatre had a really special ambience and it would have been amazing to see a performance there. We had the amazing experience of the Shinkansen as well as all forms of transport - travelling with the Japanese - including ferries, local buses and trains and taxis, and the cleanliness was something special despite the many crowds. Our trip also included shrines (with lots of steps for exercise), outdoor museums in beautiful settings, wonderful food at breakfast, lunch and dinner - a special treat of Okonomiyaki in Hiroshima. In the many contrasts of the Japanese environment what struck us most was the inner quietness and sensitivity of many people and their real wish to connect with us as human beings - we hope to visit Japan again but if we do not manage it this will always be a very special memory that we will treasure all our lives.

InsideJapan Tours really did a great job introducing us to Hidden Japan. It was really special having chance to connect with the locals and their traditions and sense the pleasure and pride they had in wanting to share this with us as well as experiencing the benefits of the modern way of life. Travelling on public transport and eating in the many Japanese restaurants was a great way of mixing with the Japanese and getting a feel for the culture. Nothing was too much trouble for this tour operator - they not only organised and ran the tour perfectly but gave us a great deal of help in organising transport, accommodation, meals, suggestions for itinerary etc. for several days when we were travelling on our own and this was invaluable especially with the difficulties of language in Japan (though the google translation app was also useful). We would definitely travel with InsideJapan Tours again and highly recommend their professionalism and well-informed tour leaders/guides.
