A relaxing spring break with good weather and without the crowds.

Wanted to see as much as possible of NZ's South Island, using ferries, trains, car hire and to minimise the cost; then go out to the very remote Pacific nation of Niue and then spend three weeks visiting friends and family in three Australian states, Everything worked perfectly; loved alltht we saw and experienced in all three countries -- unforgettable.

Began using Ffestiniog many years ago to book UK and foreign train travel with (sometimes) associated hotels. Needed an agent who understood real travel, particularly trains and ferries and wasn't just selling packages from a brochure. Their attention to detail over a period of many weeks while arrangements were being made (and we often altered our requirements) was faultless. Thanks to them we have enjoyed a superb holiday.

An escorted 3 week rail tour of India particularly using the Heritage steam railways to Shimla, Darjeeling and Ooty. Experience of all sorts of rail travel including an express train to Agra to see the ever beautiful Taj Mahal and an overnight sleeper train. Experiencing the sights, sounds and colours of India from the North East, North West and the the South in Tamil Nadu.

Unescorted holiday in early March to Stockholm, Narvik and Luleå.

Efficient, speedy and accurate.

The holiday ranged from seeing the Australian outback by train, visiting major cities in Australia and New Zealand and seeing plentiful countryside in New Zealand as well. Breaking up the journey on the way were short stops in Singapore on the way out and Hong Kong on the way back providing added city interest and breaking up the long journeys to and from Australia and New Zealand

Everything that was advertised duly occurred

A great experience with an excellent tour. The fine weather gave us the contrast between the green valleys of Switzerland and the deep snowy peaks. The clockwork operation of Swiss Railways has to be experienced first-hand.

Ffestiniog Travel organised a very smooth holiday with well-chosen hotels, restaurants and travel and excellent tour leaders who took the trouble to make sure everyone on the trip enjoyed themselves. They ensured both individual interests were met and group activities were available. An excellent trip.

Two good centres for exploring Switzerland with well-organised excursions

Knowledgeable, helpful, adaptable, friendly.

There was plenty of Snow on the Alps and we could see it all thanks to the excellent weather - hardly a cloud in the sky the whole time we were in Switzerland. Four flexible days to make good use of of our Rail Passes and two fixed days for the most famous rail journeys in the Alps. The highlights for me were the Bernina Express and a day trip to Zermatt and up the Gornergratbahn with the views of the Matterhorn and the other 4,000m peaks. High quality hotels, with the Freieck in Chur being outstanding.

The tour was well-designed, pre-tour admin was good and the tour in reality matched or exceeded the brochure description. Tour leadership was very good, coping with everything that happened with competence and patience.
