Excellent holiday with so much to see

We thoroughly enjoyed our grand tour of the Scottish highlands , it covered so much in one holiday in Scotland and we appreciated all the behind the scenes organisation to make it all flow smoothly.

Barry was professional, well organised and cheerful in his manner every day . He allowed for some flexibility for some in our party when they asked and was always attentive if folk had any issues in any of the hotels on the way .

Kyrgyzstan - land of mountains, lakes and nomads. Adventure, culture, traditions and great food

Tour of north, east and south Kyrgyzstan by mini-bus, starting in the capital (Bishkek) - a lively "green" and relatively new city built in the Soviet era. Ffestiniog Travel used a company called Eco Tour based in Kyrgyzstan. Together they provided an excellent tour. As this was only the second time it had been operated some things could be improved for next time, but I know that the operators will carefully consider any suggestions as they are a small company that listens to its customers and are flexible in their approach.

A most enjoyable introduction to Ireland

The holiday was well organised and ran smoothly. We had an extremely good Tour Leader who kept us well informed without being too intrusive. He also suggested a few alternatives to the planned itinerary, which some of the group opted for. The selection of hotels was very good, with one exception (the Jury's Inn at Cork), which added to the enjoyment of the holiday. Train travel was straightforward and worked as planned. The selection of hotels was very good, with one exception (the Jury's Inn at Cork), which added to the enjoyment of the holiday. Train travel was straightforward and worked as planned. Coach travel involved mainly two coaches, one of which gave a rather rough ride, the other was better. We felt we were given a very good introduction to the Republic of Ireland, seeing Dublin, Limerick and Cork as well as some more remote parts of the Atlantic Coast. A most enjoyable trip, despite the rain which, being Ireland, we were expecting.

Rating for tour operator:

Ffestiniog Travel are a small tour operator providing holidays mainly by rail. We have used them several times, both for escorted tours like this one and for tailor made holidays. We have always found them helpful and flexible, especially with the tailor made tours. This was the best escorted tour we have been on with Ffestiniog Travel, due in part to the excellent tour leader who looked aftr the group exceedingly well.
