Amazing self-drive holiday in Namibia organised by Expert Africa

Our trip was a self-drive tour of Namibia staying in a variety of accommodations from B&B's in towns to lodges in the wilderness. There was an interesting mixture of desert landscapes, coast and wildlife parks.

Tailor-made Namibia Safari by Margaret, 9 Oct 2015

Absolutely fantastic!

We fell in love with Namibia. The landscape was unlike anything else we had seen and we were awestruck by the scale and variety of it. Then there were the animals and the birds which held us spellbound. All of this was against the background of staying in lodges in the most unusual and picturesque of settings where we were very well looked after and enjoyed fantastic cuisine.

We visited some places we have been before and some new ones. this time we paid a brief visit to the coast and the Waterberg plateau. we travelled though very varied scenery, and had some amazing animal experiences . THe Namibians are so polite friendly and enthusiastic, and always delighted to hear that we have visited several times before, and invariably remember us.

We always book our holidays with the help of Sabina, she is Namibian herself, so is a fount of knowledge, she now knows the sort of places that will suit us, and we make an itinerary together . Sabina will often suggest somewhere that is new or that we haven't heard of before, and it all comes together to fit our budget .

Brilliant safari in Botswana

We stayed in 3 camps, Muchenje, Lebala and Shinde, for 3 nights at each. All the camps, the staff, the guides were excellent. We saw abundant wildlife, with interesting and informative guides, we had a variety of activities, including a visit to a local village and school. We were made to feel very welcome everywhere we went, and nothing was too much trouble, in fact, as we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary while on holiday, we were treated ...

We saw abundant wildlife, with interesting and informative guides, we had a variety of activities, including a visit to a local village and school. We were made to feel very welcome everywhere we went, and nothing was too much trouble, in fact, as we celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary while on holiday, we were treated time and again to mark the occasion. The travel arrangements ran smoothly, as did everything.

Rating for tour operator:

Megan Ingoldby at Expert Africa was extremely helpful in arranging our holiday. She was able to give first hand information about the camps we discussed and ended up with an itinerary to suit our dates and requirements. The documents provided were very informative and helpful, as was the Botswana safari guide book. All was packaged very neatly.

Tailor-made Zambia Safari by gandc, 7 Oct 2015

great safari for 2 weeks in Luangwa valley, Zambia

Went to 3 camps run by Remote African Safaris to mainly walk with experienced guides in the bush. South Luangwa has many camps but none as friendly, flexible and with such experienced guides as it is owner-run by the Coppinger family who are always to hand. North Luangwa has only 2 camps and is wonderfully remote. We have been 7 times as we love it.

Expert Africa have the right experience to help us select the places and lodges which suit us.We have used them for 8 years and, led by Chris Macintyre who edits the Bradt Guide, we know we get advice from their staff who have been to the places they describe. we have always had a brilliant holiday and exactly as we expected and wanted. The pricing is transparent and the briefings and support cannot be faulted.

Self-drive holiday around Namibia plus a 6-day safari arranged by and around the conservancies (indigenous people) in the Kunene region. The landscapes and the way they change over short distances is incredible. Overnight lodges are of an impeccably high standard - we preferred those which had a working element to complement the tourism. Driving is a joy in this sparsely-populated country. The wildlife encountered (lots) is just the icing on ...

Brilliant. Expert Africa: - always took the time to understand our objectives precisely prior to making recommendations. - always communicated promptly, clearly and thoughtfully giving us everything we needed to make decisions - are able to write and speak in excellent, unambiguous English - delivered on all commitments - offer a superb, fully-functional, well-maintained website providing exactly the right information - assisted quickly and effectively when a couple of minor problems arose that were outside of their control (a missed flight connection and an incorrect car-rental surcharge) This is a superb and professional operator that I recommend unreservedly.

Martha Young from Expert Africa helped my sister and I organise a very special holiday to Southern Africa. Martha was extremely tolerant of all our prevarications and helped us arrange a taylor-made holiday for us. Martha is an expert in South Africa and Namibia and when we also wanted to go to Botswana and the Victoria falls she passed us on to other experts in the company. Their literature is extensive and informative and once we had booked our holiday they sent us 2 very interesting books by Chris McIntyre about Botswana and Namibia. Every aspect of the holiday was covered and we felt in safe hands. I would thoroughly recommend Expert Africa to anyone thinking of going there. This was our first safari holiday and we loved every minute of it.
