A chance to view the ancient Sri Lankan relics of a tropical island, enjoy the fabled cuisine so rich with rare local fruits, vegetables and delicious curries in exotic residences or on the roadside both from the turbulent tuks tuks squeezing us through the rush hour traffic or graciously touring in aircondition comfort.

Becky at ETG took a lot of trouble understanding what elderly tourists, one with sight impairment but a lot of travel experience would find stimulating and manageable. The variety of hotels suggeted gave us the opportunity to feel we were properly involved with the planning as well as controlling the budget. Additional information was well presented and the whole package was very tidily managed in a thoroughly friendlyt, proficient and helpful manner.

We really liked the large range of bird life, the elephants, the creatures in the jungle and the whales. in addition we enjoyed staying in some great small hotels with lovely staff and great local food.

A good personal experience

A full itinerary took us from Colombo to Kandy via Trincomalee, last visited by one of the party 60 years ago with the Royal Navy, from ancient ruins and the seat of Buddhism, via the tea country and National Parks and on to the deserted beaches of the South Coast where turtles come to lay their eggs, finally arriving at Galle. Our first-rate chauffeur guide pointed out bird and wildlife along the way, took us to local restaurants, suggested interesting additional visits and ensured our holiday was truly memorable.

We visited Sri Lanka for a second time, 23 years after our first, and saw some of the same places and some new. We had a first rate company arranging the tour, in Experience Travel. We loved the people we met on the visit, always smiling and friendly. Traffic could be trying, with tuk-tuks slowing movement, and driving generally not to Western standards. But the service received in our hotels was courteous and outstanding, while the food was of a high standard. Altogether a great holiday in a lovely country.

A two week tour of the highlights of Sri Lankan Culture and Landscapes

Our tour was organised by Experience Travel Group. The itinerary was perfect , hotel choices always excellent and our driver and tour guide Raja was outstanding- he simply made every day work smoothly and just as we wanted

Two weeks in India - three centres, Tower House Hotel In Cochin, Banyan Farm-stay in Southern India, followed by a few days in Chandigarh to attend a friend's wedding. All flights, transfers, accommodation, plus several excursions, organised by Experience Travel.

Everything about this company is excellent. From a single phone call, they produced an itinerary for independent travel which accurately reflected our wishes, then altered it when we changed our mind. Our holiday in India went without a hitch, with every detail considered. Everything happened according to plan - meet and greet, transfers, excursions. We had the services of very accommodating, punctual, knowledgeable and friendly drivers and guides. At the Clapham office they have a knowledgeable India specialist, and we also had phone numbers for local agents who made sure everything was going well for us. The company only does Asian destinations, but if that is where you are going, look no further.

We left Edinburgh on the 10th December for our trip to visit Cambodia Vietnam & Singapore. The trip far exceeded our expectations. Our tour guides were exceptional in their knowledge. we were able to visit everything and more on our itinerary, and also our leisure days were made more special by tips and suggestions from the guides. Anyone looking for culture, weather, people and leisure time would love to visit these 3 places.

My wife and I have just got back from a two week holiday in Sri Lanka . We experienced such a range of activities, including a jeep safari, to a journey up the mountain tracks at nearly 2000m above sea level to see tea leaf picking. We also visited ancient sites and holy relics, all very interesting. Our journey and range of accommodation was planned and arranged by Experience Travel Group and we would say that everything ran like clockwork, except for the Sri Lankan railway ( which is never on time). Their local representative on the island and especially our guide/driver were exceptional and made our stay very safe, comfortable and enjoyable; apart from the unseasonable rain. Thouroughly recommend the organisation and experience: beautiful country and people.

Long time planning of this holiday, which was supported by the tour operator with amendments to suit. Good communications and personal service. Excellent range of activities and mix of accommodation all at a reasonable price.
