One of the best holidays ever

Cicero i take great care of each and every traveller. Nothing is too much trouble. We were able to visit certain places which are not open to the general public. As an elderly woman traveling alone it is very comforting to be so beautifully cared for.

Ciceroni is the finest company I have traveled with. One is safe, comfortable and made to feel more than welcome. Every detail is well thought out. A huge amount of preparation has clearly taken place before the public set off.

First Class Venice

Packed full of very interesting visits including some not available to other tour operators. Our guides, Tom and James, were and are quite exceptional. Must mention that the group were the tops!

MARVELLOUS ENLIGHTENING MAGICAL VENICE

a 'Culture vulture' holiday led by Tom Duncan an art historian who imparts his knowledge with vim, humour and obvious pleasure - both his and his listeners.

Rating for tour operator:

As above, Tom Duncan's company Ciceroni is run on oiled wheels - this was my 15th trip with Ciceroni, which speaks for itself. I am already booked on two more trips with Ciceroni this year. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

A 3 day trip in London visiting Sam Wanamaker Theatre and Middle Temple;

We stayed at the GrangeSt Paul hotel from where we visited the Sam Wanamaker Theatre, seeing "A Winter's Tale" and also saw Eileen Atkins replicating Ellen Terry's Shakespearean speeches - a tour de force. We also had dinner overlooking the Thames at night and had lunch in Middle Temple in the Great Hall. All in all a very interesting and happy experience.

I have travelled both in this country and abroad including Boston USA with this particular company and have always found them to be excellent. They find good locations and have knowledgeable guides. I am going to Italy with them in April/May this year and I am looking forward to it.

Shakespeare by Candlelight

The tour involved 2 performances at The Rose Theatre (Part of The Globe complex) with a backstage exploration/explanation, as well as a walking visit to sites in the vicinity with connections to Shakespeare's writing and acting Company during his London period. The group was a sensible size, and we enjoyed pre-booked meals in appropriate restaurants. A very satisfactory 'Long Weekend'

Very Enjoyable Holiday

An enjoyable and very well organised trip. The quality of the excursions and the guides were excellent and so was the food in all the restaurants. The hotel was well appointed but the food of variable quality - to be fair I realise it was not the first choice for organisers as the other was shut for re-furbishment.

Cultural & Arts Holiday

Intensive with well chosen optional periods of free time. Well organised so that the days had themes to enable retention of vast amount of illuminating new knowledge about visits and artefacts. Well chosen restaurants for tour meals. The tour gudes were amusing and other members of the group were very approachable so it was fun.

Both the guides were very knoeledgeable and fun: I can't remember being bored. We were also well looked after when there were problems eg. when our flight was cancelled etc. Well chosen hotel with friendly service.

A wonderful week

With Ciceroni experts, Tom Duncan and James Hill, following in the steps of all those in the past who have done the Grand Tour. Stimulating but exhasuting both mentally and physically! A good week which ideally should be followed up by a further visit.

The best possible way to discover Rome

Having visited Rome under my own steam before, I cannot begin to list the ways in which this type of travel takes away any stress. It also stretches the sagging brain muscles, only to the extent that one allows it, with enormously knowledgeable and erudite guides. Even the headsets were a boon, in that they cut out some of the background noise, yet meant guides didn't have to shout. Utterly blissful.

Rating for tour operator:

Nothing was too much trouble for our guides. They have a way of opening doors that others might not even notice. A good Yin/Yang combination of local knowledge, deep knowledge and charm worked its wonders on priests and local officialdom alike.
