Rob Roy Way

We spent eight days walking the Rob Roy Way. We added an extra day to extend the route. We were very glad we did this as we did find it the most impressive part of the walk. Absolute Escapes were very helpful in organising everything.

Rating for tour operator:

Absolute Escapes were brilliant. They organised excellent B&Bs, bag carrying and transport where and when needed. They were most helpful and the whole operation was seamless. WE were given excellent maps and directions and a book about the walk which gave us all the information we needed to make the most of the trip. They suggested an extension to the trip which we were very glad about because it turned out to be the highlight of our time there. We were very impressed and will seek them out again for further such trips we decide to make.

Thank you very much for your review, James. We were delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Rob Roy Way, and that the arrangements went well. Thank you also for your feedback on the extension to Amulree - this is certainly something we will look to promote more fully in the future. If we can be of any assistance to you in the future then please don't hesitate to contact us again. Andy Gabe

Absolute Escapes put together a wonderful itinerary and selected very fine places for us to stay. They appeared to be the best accomodations in all of the places we stayed. Very well organized and thought out - and we plan on returning in the not too distant future.

Barrett tailor-made holiday

The holiday was both fun and educational. We arrived in Edinburgh and went directly to Inverness for two days. From there to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis. From there back to Pitlochry and then finished with two days in Edinburgh. We enjoyed the whole trip which included fishing for trout on Loch Ness, visiting historical sites, enjoying the country-side views, whiskey tasting, a ghost tour, visiting castles and shopping on the Royal Mile.

Rating for tour operator:

My tour operator, Sine Nielson, along with Andy Gabe, was the best. I asked her to come up with a personalized itinerary based on what my wife and I wanted to see. Sine produced a tailor-made holiday in no time at all with all the details needed for a stress-free trip. Then, at the last minute she was asked to change the itinerary based on recommendations from my wife. Sine was very accommodating and made the changes with no hesitation and no fuss. The trip turned out perfect. I recommend Sine and Andy for any tour of Scotland.

The Cleveland Way - An Unforgettable Walking holiday

Walking the whole Cleveland Way from Helmsley to Filey was an amazing experience. There were plenty of bustling towns, high cliffs and desolate moors. I think that it is this combination of different landscapes which make the Cleveland Way so unique.

They organised my holiday very quickly and sent me immediately all the information I needed. The documents I got were all very helpful during the tour. Regarding the places of overnight stay, they had made an excellent choice of accommodation which I appreciated a lot. I always felt very welcome and enjoyed my stay - even if it was for just one night.

A walk in the park..

A fairly long walk, The West Highland Way and The Great Glen Way, at a comfortable speed in a wonderful landscape, blessed with the most surprising weatherluck in an area - Scotland - not normally known for its stable weather.

Everything planned turned out, exactly according to plan, a plan, that I had ample time and opportunity to influence and familiarize myself with. Not a singel glitz anywhere.

fantastic experience everything i had expected and more.

wanted to go on a walking holiday and be able to take my dog. wanted a decent walk to challenge myself without too much map reading as i have a useless sense of direction and the great glen way was the perfect walk. very lucky with the weather, met some great people of the way, and so much varied scenery to walk through.

very helpful and worked very hard to find me accommodation which would take a dog as i didnt know how difficult this would be. very pleased with the accommodation they organised and also the lifts which were required in some cases. maps and information regarding the walk a great help too.

West Highland Way expedition.

My brother, sister and I had a fabulous five day break with Absolute Escapes taking all the strain of arranging the holiday and luggage transportation from us. The guides and maps were high quality and the support information, which we didn't need, was excellent. We had wonderful weather and I did the entire West Highland Way in shorts, two days in a tee shirt and three days with a light jumper only. It was the walking experience of a lifetime...

The guides and maps were high quality and the support information, which we didn't need, was excellent. We had wonderful weather and I did the entire West Highland Way in shorts, two days in a tee shirt and three days with a light jumper only. It was the walking experience of a lifetime. The icing on the cake was that our final B&B was on the road about two miles from the official end of the walk. We were able to check in, en route, and drop off our very heavy rucksacks.

Rating for tour operator:

Great support, prompt replies to questions and made our break memorable. No hesitation in recommending them to others.
