Absolute Escapes set up a trip where we rented a car in Glasgow and explored the Isle of Mull and Isle of Skye by driving and ferry rides. The trip was planned perfectly, we had just enough time in each place and all the travel was manageable and scenic. Every bed and breakfast booked for us was amazing, with great locations and lovely local owners who were very friendly and helpful. The only disappointment is that sometimes the written driving directions provided were wither incorrect or limited, but they provided us with a map so we were able to find our own way. Also, we wanted to spend some time in Edinburgh at the end of the trip, but we didn't realize that the journey to get to Edinburgh on our last day took the entire day, so we only got to enjoy the city for a few hours. But that was mainly poor planning on our part, and overall we were extremely happy with the Absolute Escapes trip!

We did not have a tour guide, we traveled by ourselves. But the advance work done by Absolute Escapes as our tour operator was well worth it for us. The time and headache saved on researching places to stay and travel routes was considerable, and then they saved us more time by making all the bookings for us. For example, we didn't have to spend hours reading consumer reviews to know which B&B to trust.
Thank you so much for your kind comments Susan, and the fabulous photos you sent us. It looks like you and Gabby had an amazing trip, despite the very changeable Scottish weather! We are glad to hear that our services helped everything to run smoothly throughout your trip, and we hope to hear from you again in the future. Best wishes, Freya Burns.

Wonderful Arran Coastal Way
We had a great week walking round the coast of the beautiful island of Arran. The weather was lovely and the views spectacular. We stayed in a variety of bed and breakfasts and one small hotel. All were clean and comfortable with excellent breakfasts. The best was Kincardine Lodge at Lochranza, where our hosts were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. All were clean and comfortable with excellent breakfasts. The best was Kincardine Lodge at Lochranza, where our hosts were very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It was also very spacious and comfortable with a wonderful breakfast. Dinners in the recommended restaurants were all good. We particularly enjoyed the Fiddlers Bar in Brodick, with good food and live music. We went back there on our last night. You need to book! The walking was varied with some boggy and tricky bits along the raised beaches and a long day on the road round the west of the island. There was a lot of wildlife to enjoy. We made the detour to the atmospheric standing stones on Machrie Moor, We avoided the boulder fields between Lagg and Whiting Bay, but the inland route is now well marked with good views. The boulder fields took two younger fit people 8.5 hours, one of which on all fours, but they did enjoy it.

Everyone at Absolute Escapes was efficient and helpful. All the information arrived promptly and was comprehensive and helpful, but not too long. My only query was answered promptly by email. I would certainly recommend the company and would book another holiday with them.
Thank you very much for your review, Freya, and for the wonderful photos you sent us of your walking holiday - Arran looks better than ever in the blazing sunshine! It sounds like you had a great time on the trail, and visiting the ancient Standing Stones of Machrie Moor must have been a special experience. Thank you also for your feedback on our services. We would be delighted to assist you again in the future. Best wishes, Sine Nielsen

Arranging my John Muir Way walk with Absolute Escapes was a great experience!
After walking the West Highland Way with a group 3 years ago, I was bitten by the walking-in-Scotland bug, and I decided to do a solo journey of the newly-official John Muir Way. I've found this form of travel to be a great way to really experience a country, as you're generally away from the major tourist destinations and out amongst the hills, woods, coastlines, and waterways in places most people don't see.

I planned my John Muir Way solo walk with the assistance of Absolute Escapes. I loved that I could make payments gradually (and easily!) over time, instead of one fell swoop. The lodgings that were arranged for me were top-notch for my budget level, and the service I received at them was fantastic. Luggage transfers along my journey went off without a hitch - my large duffel bag appeared magically and was waiting for me at my day's destination every time. I will definitely look to Absolute Escapes first when planning my next trip!
Many thanks for your feedback Heather, I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the JMW so much. We'd be more than happy to make you're arrangements again the next time you come walking in Scotland! Kind Regards, James Fathers

OUTSTANDING HOLIDAY IN SCOTLAND
My boyfriend and I went to Scotland to hike The Great Glen Way. It was in the end of March so we were not expecting the best weather, but we were prepared. Luckly it only rained the day before we began our hiking trip, but bad weather shouldn't stop us so we made it to the top of Ben Nevis anyway. Luckly it only rained the day before we began our hiking trip, but bad weather shouldn't stop us so we made it to the top of Ben Nevis anyway. The next day we began our 5 day hike from Fort Williams to Inverness. We had never been hiking before and as the days went by our bodies felt more and more sore. That didn't matter because the weather was great and the hiking even better. We took the high routes and got some incrediable views from the top. The lochs were so unbelieveable beautiful and because we weren't hiking in the summer season we had all this beautiful nature to ourselves. The big hills made you feel very small and it became very clear how amazing Mother nature is. When we in the evening finally came to our B&B or hostels it was so nice and the people we met were outstanding. They all made us feel at home and were very helpful. It was just OUTSTANDING. It has truly been one of the best holidays ever and the service has been so great! Everything was just spot on - THANK YOU!

Absolute escape has definitly played a great part in our trip being a succes. From the day we arrived everything was perfect. The luggade transfer were on time and we didn't have to worry about anything. All the places that they had booked for us to stay were OUTSTANDING. The people were so caring. All the maps and route descibtions that we had got helped us to make our trip even better than we would have thought. Having completely faith in Absolute Escape made us relax even more and just put us in the right state to make the hike OUTSTANDING!
Many, many thanks for taking the time to send us such a lovely response and kind review Line & Stefan! We were thrilled to hear your holiday went so well and that all of the accommodation was to your liking and baggage transfers flowed smoothly. We do hope we can tempt you back to Scotland for another great experience in the future. Thank you again. With best wishes to you both. Amanda MacDonald
