Great Accomodations, Dingle Way is interesting

We (Kim, Anita, Fritz, and Kathy) did the 8 day trek of the Dingle way. It was the first time to Ireland for each of us. All our hosts at the B&Bs were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and in working order. Breakfast at each B&B was excellent. Breakfast is very important to me when I am in a trek. The Dingle Way was more rural and less wilderness than I expected. Rooms were clean and in working order. Breakfast at each B&B was excellent. Breakfast is very important to me when I am in a trek. The Dingle Way was more rural and less wilderness than I expected. The day from Dunquin to Cuas was the most remote day for us with the walk on the beach at Smerwick Harbor. We had good weather most days with one day of complete rain going from Cloghane to Castlegregory. However we were prepared for rainy weather and it was not an issue.

Rating for tour operator:

The Dingle Way trek is my 2nd time using Absolute Escapes for a trip. In May of 2015 I was with the Colorado Hiking Club when we did the West Highland Way that was also setup by Absolute Escapes. Both of these treks were self guided. Absolute did a great job for us on the Dingle Way. All of the B&Bs were great for accommodations and food and were located on the Dingle Way route with the exception of the B&B in Dunquin that was only about a 1/4 mile off the route. The Absolute writeups of the trek were accurate and their communication with me before the trip was great. They kept me completely informed on the status of our trip.

The weather was very kind to us warm sunny days no rain, tee shirts and shorts all the way. Our accommodation was great a mixture of hotels,B&B,and a pub, good breakfasts and friendly staff. We enjoyed our early doors beers after the days walking especially the Tyneside blond, and our nightcaps of single malts. We had some great laughs and some good banter,so all in all a great time was had by all. Our accommodation was excellent a mixture of hotels, B&B,and a pub, great breakfasts, and friendly staff.

Absolute escapes were great they sorted out excellent accommodation for us,and we had no problem with our baggage being moved from place to place. The information packs they sent to us were spot on. Would certainly think of using Absolute escapes again, and would recommend to any one.

Brilliant Tour of Inner and Outer Hebredes

Mull, Skye and the first days on Lewis the sun hardly stopped shining, then it clouded over and rained a bit, but if it hadn’t, how would we have known what the Islands are really like. Rain never got in the way of doing things. Wildlife – white tailed eagle, golden eagle 30 foot over the car, puffins 2ft away plus all the other birds on the Treshnish Isles. A pod of about 15 dolphins that played around the boat for about 15 mins on the way to Staffa. An otter we got close enough to video – Watch out Gordon Buchanan, it was on Mull as well  Spectacular scenery all around. All the B&Bs were good, but Skye, Harris and Barra stood out for location with sea or loch views from our bedroom.

Rating for tour operator:

Our tour was effortlessly customized for us. All B&Bs booked for us, ferry crossings sorted. All we had to do was turn up and enjoy. We had started looking at guide books, but soon discovered that all the places / things to do were covered in the guide sent from Absolute Escape. We would certainly use them again.

Absolute Escapes responded to this review on 31 May 2016:

Many thanks for your feedback, Mike, we really appreciate your kind comments and were delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful time exploring the Hebrides. The Isle of Mull is a real wildlife haven and by the sound of things you were very lucky - it's not every day that eagles, puffins, dolphins and otters show up! We can't wait to see photos when you've had time to sort through them all and pick your favourites. Please don't hesitate to contact us again if we can assist with any more adventures. Best wishes, Sine Nielsen

Offa's Dyke path was a success thanks to the excellent organisation by Absolute Escapes

We walked Offa's Dyke Path (ODP)from April 28 until May 12, 2016. It was a hard but very satisfying walk through the borderland between Wales and England. It is a beautiful countryside with wide views over the English plains and the Welsh hills and mountains. On top of that, there are many interesting places to visit along the route. Several Castles (Chepstow, Llantilio Crosseny, Chirk, Denbigh) and abbeys as well as remains of ancient settlements ...

Accomodation and baggage transfer were organised by Absolute Escapes. I do not exaggerate by saying that we were able to complete ODP thanks to the impeccable organisation of Absolute Escapes. They picked very good B&B's and arranged the baggage transfer either bij the B&B owners or by taxi. All we had to do was enjoy our walking holiday.

Thank you very much for your review, Paul. We were delighted to hear that you enjoyed the challenge of Offa's Dyke Path so much, and all of the arrangements went well. There's certainly lots of variety along the trail and it sounds like you experienced much of it. Thank you once again for choosing to book with us. Best wishes, Andy

Two nights in a lovely B & B in Edinburgh that was at its sparkling spring best, then off with Rabbies Tours on our week's odyssey to the Highlands and Islands. Our driver/guide (Matthew) couldn't have been bettered and his wealth of experience and knowledge, friendliness and kindness helped made the holiday the huge success it was. Oh, yes, and there was also the weather which was warm and sunny for the most part. Was it ordered especially for us? Our international party of 16 got on very well which added to the overall enjoyment of the experience. All our B & Bs were very satisfactory, especially the ones at Portree, Ullapool and Edinburgh. It would be very difficult to identity particular highlights; round every corner stellar scenery appeared before our eyes and even the somewhat forbidding, work-a-day exterior of Stornaway was transformed by the early summer sunshine. We ate like kings, met the most extraordinary people and visited magical places. Thank goodness the weather isn't always like how we found it, though; the place would be overrun with tourists!!

Rating for tour operator:

Absolute Escapes proved an excellent company to deal with and we would recommend their services without hesitation. Their planning arrangements were first class and they proved to be a very accommodating company to deal with. The company they put their trust in to provide the 'nuts and bolts' of our touring holiday, Rabbies Tours, were likewise outstanding. We look forward to more adventures!

Thank you very much for your feedback Peter - it's great to hear you had such a fantastic time! I wish I could say that we arranged the 'Hebridean Heatwave', but I'm afraid that's one part we can't take credit for. Do let us know when you next consider any Scottish adventures! Kind Regards, James Fathers
