Skye and the Outer Hebrides Hiking

We hiked Skye and the Outer Hebrides for a week. The hiking was really enjoyable and relaxing. The other wonderful part of this holiday was the ability to connect with some of the amazing people who live on these islands. We had the privilege of hearing their stories and laughing with them. It was an amazing week of escaping the world to a place where there is peace and quiet, and also a sense of stepping back in time. A sense of community ...

Just leave it all to the professionals.....

Totally relaxing walking holiday, with a small, friendly group - never more than 8. The guide was (as always) very well-informed and highly qualified, and clearly loved the wildlife and landscapes she was showing us. The days involved a variety of trips, and each day a walk of 5-6 miles or so. The group ate together each evening at a variety of restaurants.

I've now been on numerous Wilderness Scotland holidays. The trips are well planned and researched, with great attention to detail. All the guides are highly qualified professionals with a genuine love for and commitment to the areas they are showing us. The company seems keen to look after the staff and to provide job satisfaction, which is in turn reflected in their attitude to the work they carry out. There is also a genuine concern about the environment and sustainability.

Walking – High Points Cairngorm by PeterC, 11 Jun 2018

Walking in the Cairngorm mountains.

Had a memorable week's walking in the Cairngorms, led by an inspirational and very knowledgeable guide. Stayed in a very comfortable lodge and transport provision was also excellent. Great regard paid to each client's personal requirements and to ensure everyone of all abilities had a rewarding experience.

Wilderness Scotland: found the whole process from enquiring about a holiday, booking right through to being dropped off at the end of the week to be very profession and of high quality. Particular praise should go to our walk leader who was just superb.

Canoeing: The Scottish Highlands by FD, 11 Jun 2018

Canoeing in the Highlands

Six days canoeing in the Highlands was magic. We paddled three rivers practising new skills everyday. It was both physically and technically challenging and harder than I thought it would be but that made the trip even more of an adventure. Being part of the organised tour gave us access to places and experiences we couldn’t have found ourselves. I wish the trip didn’t have to end!

Kayaking around the western isles.

This holiday involved kayaking around the western isles. We went to some great places, but the highlight was kayaking across from Skye to Raasay, then up the coast and crossing over to the Rona. The trip was well organised, with great food and accommodation, including camping. The guides were superb, nothing was too much trouble and they shared lots of local information about the history and wildlife.

Wilderness Scotland were recommended by a friend and I can honestly say that the organisation of this trip was perfect. From the initial booking to the organisation of the trip, food and accommodation was great. The 2 guides were so knowledgeable and what a great way to see the coast and varied wildlife and scenery. It was really amazing.
