Outer Hebrides Sea Kayaking

It was great! We were only able to kayak 2 days due to high winds but the guides pivoted and filled our days with excellent hikes, historical sites, tours. We were busy, educated and had fun!!

Rating for tour operator:

Our guide, Don Pritchard really made the trip wonderful for me. He was knowledgeable about all things Scottish. History, wildlife, hiking, food, the people and clans, stories, myths and legends. His driving skills were expert. He made sure of our comfort. He coached and helped us prepare for every hike. His playlists were fun and unforgetable. He had to return to Perth to get me from the train because of a missed connection as well. Thank you Don for a memorable vacation.

Inspiring, challenging, wonderful

Sea kayaking trip at the Atlantic Coast. I love to Sea the Scottish Landscape from the waterside. Watching the weather: rain, wind, waves come and go. This makes the landscape special. It's nice to travel with like-minded people and experienced guides.

Amazing Holiday & Learning Sea Kayaking

I had a great time at the Introductory Sea Kayaking Course with Wilderness Scotland. The adventure was organized very well and professional. Not only have I learned sea kayaking, but had an amazing experience exploring the beautiful nature of West Scotland. One of my best holidays ever!

A Wonderful Guided tour of the Outer Hebrides

Simon and Findlay, our amazing guides, took us through the rural island of the Outer Hebrides with lots of knowledge and accommodation. The bike routes were well structured and took us through beautiful scenery of the islands. The hotels were nice and, with the help of our guides, the meals were on time even if we were not. This will be a vacation I will remember for a long time. I'd love to book another holiday with Wilderness Scotland.

Rating for tour operator:

Wilderness Scotland seemed to have a great system down. It is hard to distinguish between our guides and the tour operator. Our guides were excellent and could call on the office to take care of things very easily. They had plenty of good equipment, relationships with the hotels and restaurants, and knowledge of the area.

Walking: Uists, Barra & Mingulay by Pit Pony!, 13 Aug 2024

Remote Scottish island walking.

I have walked with Wilderness Scotland twice previously and enjoyed my trips. I chose this one because as a mature walker (I will be 77 on my next birthday) I have to be realistic about my walking capability. The trip offered the opportunity to see a number of islands and enjoy a variety of walks, sights, flowers and history, staying in small, friendly hotels, which appealed to me.

Rating for tour operator:

Everything was delivered as outlined in the brief for the trip with the single exception of our planned boat trip to Mingulay which had to be cancelled because of the weather - something no tour operator can control! Our guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and kept us all going when these conditions proved more challenging.
