Walking - Outer Hebrides & Skye by Topsy, 19 May 2022
Holiday Rating:

Fascinating exploration of one of the most remote parts of the British isles

The outer hebrides is a mysterious and vibrant group of islands, literally on the outer limits. It was great to explore the history, the scenery, the lovely food and the way of life of the inhabitants.

Lochs, moors and munros

Trekked West Highland Way in group tour of 16 with 2 guides and Great Glen Way in self-guided tour. Unbelievably sunny skies and cool breeze in mid-to-late-April. Trees just budding out and too early for midges. Hikes that followed the lochs were stunning.

Rating for tour operator:

Professional, patient, informative & LOCAL! If you're going to book with a tour operator, whether group tour or self-guided, go with a local company that knows the terrain, weather, and local "customs." Wilderness Scotland is the real deal. Highly recommend them.

Road Cycling - Outer Hebrides by AnnieB, 16 May 2022
Holiday Rating:

Wet, windy but still wonderful

The Outer Hebrides is a special place and a great place to cycle. Even though the weather was harsh at times, logistics and excellent and knowledgeable guides , and a small group, made this an excellent place to have a break from everyday life

Group hike of the West Highland Way

A group of 16 plus guides hiked the West Highland Way in 7 days. It was an amazing experience, especially so because I never had to worry about anything the whole trip.

West Highland Way Adventure

Two mature widows (75 and 78) walked the entire 96 miles self guided. The accommodations and bag transfer went off without a hitch, allowing us to fully enjoy our entire holiday! We are already planning another one.

Rating for tour operator:

Very responsive at all times. We booked in 2019, could not go in 2020, could not go in 2021 and finally got to go in April/May of 2022. This was our first adventure with Wilderness Scotland and we were very impressed with them. The trip flowed faultlessly. I am looking forward to the next adventure with them.

Walking - The Isle of Skye by Claire, 4 May 2022
Holiday Rating:

Excellent Vacation

We went on a seven day hike in Isle of Skye. We stayed for three nights in the north and then three nights in the south. We got to see all around the Isle, which was fantastic. I really feel like I got a good picture of what life is like there, the history and culture of the place. We hiked about 6-10 miles a day, and saw many beautiful vistas and places.

Rating for tour operator:

Susie Hill is a pro, who is kind and considerate and thoughtful. I was impressed by her. She also had great insight into the land and culture. She was very good at telling us about where we hiked and showed us on a map several times all the places we drove to and hiked around.
