Sauntering across the Skye
I enjoyed a weeklong Wilderness Walking adventure on the Isle of Skye. Each day was filled with hiking, interesting history of the area, the trail, the people, and natural beauty of Skye. A small group of eight with a single guide made for the perfect size group so that everyone could get to know one another and take turns sharing, leading, laughing and having a wonderful time together. A small group of eight with a single guide made for the perfect size group so that everyone could get to know one another and take turns sharing, leading, laughing and having a wonderful time together. The rain was present some, but it would not be Scotland without the stuff. Options were available when it did rain. Our group didn’t mind hiking in it and we were all prepared well to expect it. The rain did not dampen the experience for me. Fog too was special when we were able to hike in it and watch it burn off to reveal beautiful views of the Quiraing!

Wilderness Scotland is a full service operator and puts together a great package of adventure activities, accommodations, food, and fun. With a typical itinerary provided, I felt well briefed prior to the trip to know what to plan for each day. Detailed packing list, schedule, meeting information was all provided far in advance. Our trip guide was knowledgeable, kind, engaging, and a good people person navigating all kinds of personalities in our group. Her experience and training was a real asset and she was a joy to be around.

Wilderness Scotland Outer Hebrides hiking-- a perfect holiday.
This was a small group hiking holiday to the Outer Hebrides and we hiked all day, every day except for one where we toured Black house village, the standing stones and did some history and culture touring. It was the most wonderful trip. We hiked peak to peak, hiked to white sand beaches, saw whales and eagles and seals and more. It was the most wonderful trip. We hiked peak to peak, hiked to white sand beaches, saw whales and eagles and seals and more. We stayed all together in an old hunting lodge where we'd eat delicious breakfast and dinner around a large dining table and decide the next day's adventures. Each day we saw views and natural wonders in the wilderness that you can only imagine could exist in a dream--yet they were real and we were there thanks to our guide and Wilderness Scotland's well organized, flexible and tailored trip. A true wonderful holiday, with amazing food, lots of exercise and perfect company with new friends as well as our knowledgable guide.

Our tour operator was Wilderness Scotland and our guide was Paul--for the May, 2022 Hiking the peaks of the Outer Hebrides trip. They were exactly where they said they'd be--and the trip exceeded our expectations every single day. They communicated so perfectly to get us there with the proper gear, and then they went above and beyond each day to create an experience of a lifetime for our entire group. They are a top notch tour operator, we loved the ferry rides, goofing off in our van as we drove to the hikes, we adored our lodging and the included gourmet food. It was truly a wonderful trip.

Excellent holiday
Enjoyed every minute of it. We hiked every day, which is what I signed up for and Shetland is amazing. Food was excellent and the tour guide very knowledgeable. We felt save with him as our guide.

The details of the tour were wonderful, from fun icebreakers - to tea breaks and snacks and thoughtful lunch choices and clear communication, great lodging and food options - wonderful all round!

Thoroughly enjoyed every minute.
Open Canoeing on the Spey was very enjoyable. The distance covered (circa o-KLM’s) was perfect. Leadership and ratio of guides to party size was perfect. Which worked out perfectly.

Wilderness Scotland provided great guides & managed all the details

It was perfect from start to finish.
A beautiful, sometimes challenging (which is what I wanted), ride from Inverness to Edinburgh with great food, lovely places to stay, excellent bikes and first-rate Guides. I didn't want it to end.
