Sweat, laugh, inhale, near retina-burned by beauty

I loved the physical challenge, the fortunate mix of camaraderie with fellow trekkers and experienced trip guide, Ian Johnston, and the achingly beautiful views. We trekked on Arran Isle, highlighted by a searingly bright day up Goatfell. At the top, viewing faraway Ireland, misty oceans, and other landforms miles and miles away was incomparable.

Rating for tour operator:

Ian Johnston's experience, razor wit, skill, and strength (carried a huge pack with walking sticks, extra gloves, first aid, etc) helped make this trip incredible. He was a good judge of human nature, calm, skilled at accessing our physical abilities, and very sensitive to the needs of the trekkers (bought us fresh fruit!). He offered help, and useful tips on how to best scale some of the more challenging scrambles. He took time to talk to everyone in the group individually and told wonderful stories and related local history.

Amazing sea kayaking trip in Torridon

I really rate Wilderness Scotland. Incredibly competent guide who helped us feel we were in safe hands and also encouraged us to engage in the wild and beautiful Scottish landscapes. Came away with a lot. Ore confidence in kayaking and more than anything a love of Scotland. What a breathtaking part of the world!

Perfect trek on the WHW

It was probably the hardest thing I've ver done, only because it was hours of hiking every day, but I really had no doubt that I'd be able to do it. Great guides, like-minded group of fellow trekkers, logistically easy. Food and accomodations way above average

The Great Glen Canoe Trail by Luce, 10 May 2023

The Great Glen Delivered!

A truly fabulous week on Scottish waters with an amazing guide (Emy McLeod) who has a complete thirst for the outdoors. The scenery was truly amazing with majestic mountains and Ospreys flying above. We paddled through all types of conditions which enriched the whole experience. Reaching the end of Loch Ness certainly felt like a hard earned achievement and the Dram tasted all the better for it!

Faultless. Nothing too much trouble. . A friend had to return to England urgently and this was arranged seamlessly with no fuss and was hugely appreciated. A very accessible and easy to use website with full information and itinerary on the trip. The guide was outstanding

Terrific walking trip in the Cairngorms National Park

We recently finished a great 7 day walking trip with Wilderness Scotland. The walks covered both Dee-side and Spey-side of the park. Walks were varied, always interesting, and our guide Dave Greer took us to a variety of locations that helped paint a picture of the history, natural beauty, and human impacts on the park. Our two guest house stays were lovely, meals terrific, and small group size just right.

Rating for tour operator:

Wilderness Scotland is a top notch tour operator. This was our 4th trip with them. Sea kayaking and wilderness walking in the Highlands, Inner Hebrides, and Northern Ireland. Details are well thought through. Places to stay, meals, walks or paddles are always well planned and executed in a flexible way to make the trip special. Our guides with Wilderness Scotland have been top notch. Knowledgeable, friendly, a pleasure to be with.
