Wilderness Scotland's Eda Frandsen Sailing / Hiking Trip

The holiday consisted of a one-week sailing and hiking trip through "The Small Isles" off the north-west coast of Scotland on the Eda Frandsen, a 1930's wooden sailing boat. We sailed and hiked every day. The skipper, guide and chef/cook were all tremendous. The quality of the food was amazing. Our week-long sailing / hiking trip is right up there at the top in terms of holidays I have taken. I don't think it could have been improved in any way...

It was particularly fun being "crew" on the boat, not just passengers / clients.

Rating for tour operator:

Wilderness Scotland provided us with a top-notch sailing / hiking experience. The staff in the office working behind the scenes provided us with efficient booking and answered all of our questions right away. The actual staff on the excursion (our skipper, hiking guide, cook/chef) were great people who made the trip memorable in so many ways. They shared their love of sailing and hiking with us and personalized the trip.

Walking - Cairngorms & Deeside by Mr P W 15, 21 Sep 2015

A Week of amazing Scenery, Friendship, Hospitality, Food & wine.

Our tour leader made us all feel included in his decision making, safe at all times, equally important in his attentiveness, and ensured that all our hiking capabilities within the group were catered for. There was a pleasant mix of serious easy level hiking and relaxation times in delightful teashops and restaurants. The accommodation provided was excellent and the hosts were warm and friendly, the rooms comfortable and our every need catered for...

Outer Hebrides: Uists to Vatersay (walking)

Excellent small group holiday. Great overview of the islands with the emphasis on walking, with time to appreciate the wild scenery, nature and history. Excellent accommodation in quite remote places, including one hotel on the beach.

Second time I have holidayed with them. Not all meals are included and you should read the small print carefully in this respect. Otherwise I highly recommend them.

Well planned and perfectly delivered. Exceeded expectations!

The Western Isles was always going to be a beautiful location for a cycle holiday, but the Wilderness Scotland team made it even more special. The planning and delivery made the holiday go smoothly from start to finish, and the quality of the guides added so much to the whole experience.

We had fun, loved the canoeing and improved our skills and knowledge

The Leaders were excellent, encouraging, supportive, clear and fun. the group size was good, the tents anda teepee were good quality, the food was amazing. As well as being fun, and at times exciting and demanding, the trip has encouraged us with our canoeing skills and we would like to do more. We would definitely book with Wilderness Scotland again.
