Fascinating and enjoyable

16 day tour of Madagascar. Absolutely excellent guide and all drivers. Possibly slightly over ambitious in sheer distance and time spent travelling in attempt to cram in as much as possible. Very good accommodation, well organised.

Rating for tour operator:

Extremely helpful and capable, especially as I decided half way through to go to madagascar instead of ethiopia, they reorganised me cheerfully.

Sudan

Amazing destination, exceeded all expectations. If you love archaeology this is a must-visit.

Heart of the Silk Road, through Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan...

A return visit to Uzbekistan but interesting to compare with two other Stan states. Otherwise an excellent trip, well worth some discomfort. Scenically, historically and culturally a fascinating area, still to emerge from the Russian sphere of influence which has been largely beneficial. A great destination, largely unspoilt with good hotels and very friendly people.

Rating for tour operator:

A very helpful and efficient company.

Haiti - undiscovered jewel of the Caribbean

This was a 10 day trip to Haiti, visiting Port-au-Prince, Jacmel, Cap Haitien with thefantastic Citadelle. Haiti is great destination for the experienced traveller. The country has obviously suffered greatly throughout its history and is very poor and the infrastructure basic. But the people are friendly (speaking French helps) and there was no feeling of danger, although being sensible is always recommended. There are hardly any tourists there, the countryside is beautiful and there would be great hikes in the mountains. There are also nice beaches (although not near town centres!) around and also some interesting historical sites, particularly the Citadelle. The food was good, although it is quite expensive.

Rating for tour operator:

Undiscovered Destinations organise the bookinga and administration. Everything was handled very professionally, good work. Voyages Lumiere is the local operator in Haiti who run the tour, run by Jacqueline Labrom. The organisiation was generally good (apart from a few hiccups) and the guide also good. There hasn't been a culture of tourism in Haiti for a long time (Labadee excepted), and they a re still finding there feet. My feeling is that VL is probably the best around, they are experienced have the right contacts. Would recommend using them, either as an individual or as a ravel operator.

Superb holiday in Iran

We have nothing negative to say about our holiday experience in Iran. From the guide and driver to the hotels, food, sites and weather was excellent.

An interesting experience

The best part was driving up and down in the dunes and the night in the tent at the 1000 nights camp with a full moom. In a clear sky.

Iran should be on every travellers top 10 list of destinations!

No-one should have any concerns about visiting Iran: it is one of the friendliest countries I have ever visited. Superb mosques, palaces and gardens; extremely friendly people; no 'hassle' (even in the bazaars), delicious food, balmy weather (In late March) and very very few tourists (at the moment). I came home much more knowledgeable not just about Persian history but also about contemporary Iranian culture.

I really like the friendly personal service provided by Undiscovered Destinations who are always at the end of a phone to give help and advice if needed. So much getter than other tour operators who have grown too large to offer this kind of service.

Thank you for the feedback and we have to agree with you - the perception of the Iran from the outside does not match the welcome and experience when you are travelling there.
