Outstanding time exploring the "wilds of assynt"

Great trip with Wilderness Scotland guide, Kirsty, to explore many hills, coasts, and points of scenic interest in the Assynt area. Super accommodation, meals, pace of days, lovely group of guests from various countries all got along great. Outstanding weather(who comes home from Scotland with a sun tan???) made every day special.

Our second booking with Wilderness Scotland, and would not hesitate to recommend to everyone. Great pre-trip booking, excellent planning of tour to include outstanding accommodation, meals, variety of days activities, and the support of an experienced and professional guide made this a super experience.

Professional with a caring,human touch!

First class, professional guide who had an impressive depth and breadth of knowledge and great people skills which meant we were able to get the most from our trip. This was much more than a walking trip - it was a social, cultural and educational experience !

The joys of a wild, unspoiled area of Scotland

The guide's knowledge of the geology, flora and fauna and his ability to explain and inform the group added to the experience. In addition, the guide was very observant and quick to spot interesting wildlife, which ensured we had the thrill of an excellent viewing of two Golden Eagles circling the skies together and on another day two young otters, fishing and playing together.

Rating for tour operator:

Wilderness Scotland is an excellent small company which operates in wild unspoiled areas of Scotland. Their philosophy of "minimum impact" is very much in keeping with this.

The best hiking experience

We hiked some rugged and beautiful mountains in the Nortwestern part of the Highlands. The name of the tour, The Wilds of Assynt, fits the description of what we did. We hiked, went on a natural history boat ride, learned about flora and fauna, geology, history in the surroundings we were in. The group was small enough for all of us to get to know each other and enjoy each other's company. The tour was an amazing and memorable experience.

This was a great hiking trip with a wonderful and experienced organization, Wilderness Scotland. They definitely deserve a five star rating, at least! They provided us with all the information we needed to prepare for the trip, the tour was well organized and we had an experienced, knowledgable and personable guide. I hope to return to Scotland and, definitely, I would go on another tour with Wilderness Scotland.
