Island hopping around Orkney and Shetland by air, land and sea.

Below expectation this time around.

We spent a week travelling around the Orkney and Shetland Islands. We travelled by our car and the Island ferries. The organisation of the whole trip was brilliant plus notes and ideas of where to visit and what to see.

They were so helpful and easy to deal with. Everything went like clockwork.

The Shetland & Orkney Self-Drive Holiday was excellent. The Information & Itinerary support through my tablet ensured we were able to make the most of our visit to the Islands. We were blessed by really good weather bar one rainy day. We aim to return to the Islands again !

McKinlay Kidd are clearly a tour operator who provide excellent service and support. Certainly, we would not hesitate to use them in the future.

Really good choice of guest houses. Organisation of tickets and ferries, coupled with the accompanying maps and place descriptions meant that we didn't have to worry about anything.

Very efficient and helpful

We spent quality time walking on Orkney and Shetland.,especially coastal cliffs. Rental cars gave us access to wherever we wanted and accomodation was varied and very welcoming.

We were late in asking for help arranging a tour that would fit our time line. But the company put together a varied tour with excellent accomodation and a great bird watching trip by boat. They were excellent communicators and responded quickly to our questions.

Excellent communication at all times from the company and a very well organised two centre holiday on Shetland and Orkney, organised trips were excellent and accommodation varied and again very good.

Really enjoyed our fly drive to Orkney and Shetland. Weather was better than expected and people were very friendly. Enjoyed walking on beaches, visiting museums and other places of interest as well as shopping...food outlets were really good.

Everything was arranged well and accommodation was to a high standard. Comms with tour operator was excellent. and the information provided really helped us make the most of our trip.

We loved the scenery, wildlife watching, trips and tours, accommodation and food. The history - from Stone Age to WW2 - was fascinating. We were lucky with the weather, which felt very important.

Every choice was good, every arrangement went well.
