The Gods were with us in Amalfi

Walking through the hinterland and the coastal areas of the Amalfi Coast hss been along held dream. The scenery was as spectacular as I had imagined and the colour of the seas was the deep turquoise that we read about and see in the travel brochures and wonder if it could be true. It is! The views, combined with steeply rising and challenging walks up on to cliff paths and down to tucked away villages created an adventure for us every day. We discovered a shepherd with his 100 sheep and goats; an isolated market gardener on the top of the walk from Positano and a man and his mules delivering potatoes on the steep steps of Praiano. The isolated areas were filled with wild flowers and we enjoyed the challenge of identifying them and of noting the hawks and falcons that combed the cliff areas above the coastal regions. The walking was of sufficient challenge but very do-able and we had a sense of achievement at the end of every completed leg of our journey.Throughout we were well supported by excellent route guides and our hotels provided us with comfortable and very agreeable accommodation each night.

A pleasant stroll through Slovenia

This was a lovely 6 day jaunt through Slovenia: with meadows , hills, vineyards and traditional hospitality. The flora and fauna were wonderful. Very enjoyable

Beautiful Amalfi

I hiked alone along the Amalfi coast through stunning scenery and charming, little towns. The hikes were roughly 4-5 hours per day, and sometimes quite challenging. It was a perfect active holiday, and the resting days I had inbetween came to good use.

Walking tour of the Amalfi Coast

I had read about this series of walks on a stunning coastline, and resolved to walk the "Pathway of the Gods" before getting too old! My husband wanted the scenery but not the walking, so On Foot sorted out accommodation which allowed us each to spend the day doing different things, and meet up in the evenings. We were delighted with the hotels chosen, and very happy with the service at Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento. I also spent a night at an Agritourismo at St. Agata, which was a wonderful experience of staying at a working country farm, and enjoying meals from produce grown and cooked on site.

Rating for tour operator:

There were a few, but mainly Mary Pocock and Emma at On Foot, who coped with the demands of one walker and one non-walker, and who found ways for me to do the walking when some of the usual hotels were booked out (national holiday & long weekend). She gave me several options for starting and finishing at different points so I could still enjoy the same walks, and forwarded bus and ferry timetables so I could make a choice. This is also handy if the weather turns bad, and one suddenly has to change plans and find a bus.

Mallorca: Serra de Tramuntana by Balgonie, 30 Jun 2015

Energetic, interesting and very enjoyable.

We are a couple in our mid sixties who love walking and this walking holiday in Mallorca was one we had always wanted to do. The organising of hotels and transfers of luggage was all done by our excellent travel company. The information and maps of the walks were first class and we had no problems guiding ourselves in the mountains. The hotels were all gems, not too large, some quirky and all very comfortable.

On Foot Holidays were excellent from the moment we booked. Their attention to detail, their friendly but professional manner and their interest in their clients made us feel we were not just a number. They had a representative on the island who contacted us to ensure we had everything we required. They had thought of everything.

Still savoring our experience hiking the "Castles on the Rhine"

We spent a week hiking the "Castles on the Rhine", a walking tour designed by On Foot Holidays in early June. We enjoyed lovely weather, great trails and staying at a series of local hotels. The itinerary provided was clear, detailed and organized. We found this to be the ultimate walking holiday - setting out each morning after a good breakfast, incredible views, local food, well-marked trails, and baggage transfers that went off without a hitch...

We found this to be the ultimate walking holiday - setting out each morning after a good breakfast, incredible views, local food, well-marked trails, and baggage transfers that went off without a hitch. The castles were amazing, and approaching from the trail seemed so much scenic than riding a tour boat. We will definitely take another trip like this in the future.

Wonderful holiday with On Foot

We had a great time in the Sabine Hills. It's beautiful countryside with rolling hills and lovely views. We enjoyed our stays in small hilltop towns. Our local hosts were gracious and attentive.
