Great leaders, wonderful weather and good birding.

We enjoyed a sunny, warm week on Cyprus, well organised and using two hotels in different locations for best access to different flower and birding locations. All at an easy pace and with friendly people. Food was fine, countryside was very pleasant and some spectacular coastal scenery. Birds were not seen in great numbers, but the actual species were varied and there were some good 'ticks', quickly identified for us by our bird expert leader...

All at an easy pace and with friendly people. Food was fine, countryside was very pleasant and some spectacular coastal scenery. Birds were not seen in great numbers, but the actual species were varied and there were some good 'ticks', quickly identified for us by our bird expert leader.. Our plant expert was very diligent in spotting flowers, especially orchids, and ensuring that we didn't miss them. All in all, a very nice and problem-free trip. I have used Naturetrek several times before, and will definitely continue to book my birding holidays with them.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek staff are very easy to communicate with. They are quick to respond, and will always follow up any queries or potential problems. I will continue to use them for my holidays.

Wonderful time in The Gambia

This was a week long half board nature(birding) trip in The Gambia. We departed from Gatwick airport and flew into Banjul, and then travelled by road to the Forest lodges. The local team were very welcoming and professional and very knowledgeable. The accommodation was very good, as were the meals. Our Tour Lead was courteous, very supportive and most importantly, knew the itinerary and explained about each day's plans.

Tanzania Great Migration safari

We took a Naturetrek safari to Tanzania to see the Wildebeest migration and calving on the plains in S Serengeti and also a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater followed by an extension to Arusha & Tarangire NPs. We also had a visit to the Lake Manyara NP. The lodges and the local guides from Ranger Safaris were excellent and our group of 11 people had a wonderful time.

Naturetrek is a name we can trust: they do what they say they will. They have provided us with at least 10 different wildlife and wildlife/culture tours to different parts of the world and on each occasion we have felt well looked after. Naturetrek provides excellent pre-departure information, the opportunity to read past reports of the tours they offer and are always at the end of a phone to answer any queries.

Costa Rica birdwatching

A 10 day holiday flying from Gatwick to San Jose (Costa Rica) and travelling up to the Caribbean Coast, coming back down to the Caribbean lowlands and finally the Talamanca mountains before returning to San Jose.

An amazing part of the world

We had an opportunity to see marine mammals & seabirds. There were many highlights- breaching humpback whales ,some spent time thrashing their flukes as if they were letting everyone know how happy they were.Having a mother gray whale come up to the boat with her young calf & allowing it to be touched. The antics of sea lions & watching whale sharks near La Paz. Looking at the many birds- pelicans, magnificent frigate birds etc.

South African Birds and Mammals (Kruger)

We saw everything that I'd hoped for, often at very close range, plus much more, with many highlights. Accommodation and transport were comfortable and well organised. Great trip, maximising the use of the available time. Would recommend.

A holiday of a lifetime

We travelled on the ship Ortelius for 18 days from Ushuaia to the Falkland Islands then on to South Georgia where because of regulations in connection to the bird flu epidemic we left early. However, this meant more time to experience Antarctica. It was a fabulous experience. People keep asking me where am I going next? My reply is I am still enjoying my experience and cannot begin to think of another holiday yet! The whole Naturetrek team ...

However, this meant more time to experience Antarctica. It was a fabulous experience. People keep asking me where am I going next? My reply is I am still enjoying my experience and cannot begin to think of another holiday yet! The whole Naturetrek team worked with the Ortelius staff to make our experience as enjoyable and memorable as it could be. Naturetrek also offered birding walks during the period before and after we boarded ship. Which as a solo traveller was well received and enjoyable.

Rating for tour operator:

From booking through to departure date the admin team kept us informed on all aspects of the trip and what to expect. Naturetrek staff accompanied us during travel and looked after us in transit. During the time on ship the team of 4 worked their socks off. They were on duty from the moment thy emerged from their cabin in the morning to the moment they retired at night. I cant praise the team highly enough.

Excellent itinerary, accommodation, leadership and wildlife

It was a wildlife tour on Costa Rica staying at 6 different hotels on the trip. We saw a large variety of species and visited a variety of habitats in order to see a high number of bird species.
