I have to say that the advertising sold the holiday short, but try as I might, I couldn't have advertised it better

This was a wildlife holiday that delivered. Interesting nature, fantastic accommodation, Great local people. Overall a fantastic experience showing some of the best nature has to offer

South Africa's Rare Mammals

The title said rare mammals and so the question was would we see any? We most certainly did thanks to the excellence of our guides, aardvarks, aardwolves, brown hyenas plus 54 other species of mammals and hundreds of birds. It wasn't easy but that was to be expected hence our picking this trip as we'd done the big herds holidays. It wasn't easy but that was to be expected hence our picking this trip as we'd done the big herds holidays. It was a very well planed itinerary making the most of what was a relatively short time in a huge landscape to maximise the chances of seeing these rare and elusive animals. Tough but worth every penny. Thanks guides for some heart stopping views.

Naturetrek are the best for any holiday to see the natural world. Members of my family have been traveling with them since they started almost 30 years ago, we would not do that if we were not highly satisfied with all aspects of the organisation. No query is too small and the end results are always highly satisfying

Brazil - Just Jaguars! by maglia2rosa, 11 Nov 2015

The primary focus was viewing mammals and jaguars in particular in the Pantanal region in Brazil. The holiday absolutely lived up to expectations with very good sightings of Jaguar on every day we were in the main jaguar 'hotspot' and good wildlife and bird viewing at the other locations. Given the constraints of location (a long way on unmade roads from the nearest large town) I was also impressed by the amount of fresh fruit and salad available ...

Naturetrek specialise in wildlife experiences. This is my 3rd holiday with them and I would recommend them to anyone who is interested in animals/birds and the environment around them. I think they do as much as they can to manage expectations about facilities and sightings but I have not been disappointed on any of the trips I have done.

Excellent guides made this holiday.

Islay and Mull. Nothing was too much trouble for our guides, they really worked hard to ensure we saw all we wanted to see. One of the guides had superb local knowledge which he put to good use in tracking down elusive species. From being collected at Glasgow station everything was well organised. One of the guides had superb local knowledge which he put to good use in tracking down elusive species. From being collected at Glasgow station everything was well organised. Each evening we enjoyed reliving the day and recording our sitings in the comfortable surroundings of good accommodation. This may have been my first time visiting the islands of the Inner Hebrides but it won't be the last and I'm sure I'll be checking out the Naturetrek website for availability.

Rating for tour operator:

Informative website, easy to research and find what is available. Booking procedures similarly easy. Never had any issues with paperwork not coming in good time.

Excellent birdwatching holiday with experienced and knowledgeable leaders

I went on a seven days birding holiday to the Inner Hebrides islands Islay and Jura. We were picked up at Glasgow station/airport and trasferred to Islay by minibus/ferry. The hotel at Bridgend was excellent. We spent three days travelling around Islay before transferring to Jura where we stayed at the Jura Hotel. The hotel at Bridgend was excellent. We spent three days travelling around Islay before transferring to Jura where we stayed at the Jura Hotel. Both hotels provided excellent food and the managment and staff were friendly and welcoming. Our leaders were experienced and knowlegeable and took us to a variety of places where various birds could be spotted. This included thousands of Barnacle Geese, Greenland White-front Geese and many raptors including golden eagles. We also saw many deer and some otters. The scenery was fantastic with the autumn colours shining through. Unfortunately it rained for half the time but we worked around that as the tour was flexible. I would recommend this tour, particularly if you are a beginner to bird-watching.

Rating for tour operator:

This is my fourth trip with Naturetrek. They deliver a well-researched holiday with knowlegible leaders. The hotels are always good and the food enjoyable. I have been on three bird-watching holidays with Naturetrek and there is a vast range of other birding opportunities with the company as well as holidays with mammals, insects and flora. Their documents and travel arrangements are well-prepared and timely.

Amazing wildlife in Brazil's Pantanal area

This was a small group tour to the Pantanal in October. We stayed in 2 lodges and a floating hotel over a period of 10 days and saw lots animals, birds, reptiles and insects. The main highlight was seeing over 12 jaguars by the river but we were also thrilled to see rheas, an ocelot, tapirs, anaconda, river otters and hyacinth macaws. We have the most amazing photos to help us remember it all.

The holiday was extremely well-planned, including lots of helpful information provided beforehand on what to pack and what to expect. The guide, who was with us during the whole of our stay, was really knowledgeable about the wildlife of the area and knew where best to find the more unusual wildlife such as marmosets and tree porcupines and pottoos (birds).
