Early Spring Flowers of Andulacia with Naturetrek

Every aspect of this holiday was very well organized so we could just get on with having a great time appreciating the beauty of Andulacia and the Spring Flowers. Beautiful wildlife with a superb guide

We had a weekend in Norfolk in November with Naturetrek. The guide met us at our cosy hotel on the Friday night where we all introduced ourselves and advised what we were hoping to see throughout the weekend. Toby listened and made suggestions before a delicious meal. The weekend continued with great food, an amazing number of birds and a superb guide. Toby listened and made suggestions before a delicious meal. The weekend continued with great food, an amazing number of birds and a superb guide. Nothing was too much trouble and Toby was keen that we all had a weekend that met or exceeded our expectations. Speaking with the others in our group, we all felt that the weekend had been amazing and that we had been truly lucky to have such an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide.

I couldn't fault Naturetrek. We were sent a copy of the previous year's itineray to give us a flavour of what the weekend would be like with advice that the actual weekend would be tailored to us - which it was. Everything went like clockwork and we would definitely choose to travel with them again.

Sergio gave us technical briefings on camera settings and other helpful information each morning. Then he took us out during the day up into different high valleys where we were able to practise our photography in magical snow-filled landscapes. We had wonderful experiences walking in snow shoes in scenes out of a fairytale, with heavy snow falling on the trees and streams. We saw golden eagles, lammergeiers and golden eagles riding distant thermals, and chamois grazing in the distance. We experienced great hospitality and food at Casa Sarasa, and even had some snow there one day. It was a marvellous holiday!

Fantastic holiday to Falklands, South Georgia & Antarctica

Very well organised trip with like minded people. Extremely enthusiastic tour leaders, guides and ship's captain which resulted in an amazing holiday. On those days spent travelling interesting talks provided by very well informed guides. Every opportunity taken to optimise landings and sightings in this unique environment where activities are to a large extent governed by the weather. An unforgettable experience!

Naturetrek, on this trip, provided an opportunity to visit some very remote parts of the world. The standard of organisation was first class and their leaders / guides excellent in terms of knowledge and ensuring a memorable experience for everybody. Looking forward to going to the Arctic with Naturetrek in 2017.

A wonderful snorkelling experience.

We spent a week living aboard the dive-boat Ari Queen in the Maldives, whale and dolphin spotting and snorkelling with the beautiful fishes on the coral reefs. It was a completely new experience for me and the trip was really lovely, educational, restful and most enjoyable.

We spotted 5 different types of woodpecker, including the shy but spectacularly coloured black with it s red crown.

All the arrangements were very clear and arrived in timely fashion. The details of the trip were well described and everything fulfilled expectations. I am pleased that the arrangements were smooth and that there were very good opportunities to see different areas and reserves. Well planned and executed.

Natural Wonders in St. Lucia with Naturetrek

My mother and I had a wonderful week with Naturetrek in january 2016 in St. Lucia. The focus was on bird watching and our guide, Ed Drewitt, was a marvellous fountain of knowledge on birds and made every effort to help us see the amazing bird life that St. Lucia has to offer. Ed also taught us about fish, mammals, you name it! I appreciated the mix of exploring, relaxation, and real sense of being in an engaged and interested group...

And Ed went out his way to ensure we all had the best time we could, which included organising for my Mum and me to have a mud bath, which wasn't on the itinerary! I highly recommend St. Lucia, Ed, and Naturetrek! Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Vintage birding and vintage champagne - a great holiday!

Naturetrek's 'Cranes & Champagne' trip was all I had hoped for: thousands of cranes flying in formation across ice-blue skies, woodpeckers calling in the forests, water birds in plenty on the lakes and on our "day off" from birding a visit to Champagne Drappier, nestling in beautiful countryside, where we were entertained royally and tasted some excellent cuvees (General de Gaulle was a customer and we followed in his footsteps!). The expert knowledge of our naturalist guides Gerald and Simon was impressive and they transported us to the best birding spots, so that our 'tick list' was full of birds seen and heard by the end of the trip. We stayed in three very comfortable hotels. The meals in the first of the three were of truly Michelin standard, earnng the chef a spontaneous round of applause from all of us! On our final day in Troyes we enjoyed a mornng tour of this photogenic and atmospheric city by a qualified local guide, whose accent was endearingly reminiscent of Catherine de Valois in Shakespeare's Henry V! Some of us chose to go back to the forest, less than an hour's drive from Troyes, in the afernoon for more birding, whch was made possible by our guide Gerald giving up his free time to take us there. We were rewarded by great sightings of a pair of black woodpeckers, which had been playing 'hard to get' on previous days! Our transit through Gare du Nord on the way home passed - thankfully - without incident and we arrived in St Pancras on time. I can thoroughly recommend this trip to a part of France I had never been to before and which has so much to offer.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek is an efficient operator with quality guides. Its trips are good value for money. Food and accommodation are of a high standard. Customer service is friendly and pre-trip information is excellent. Highly recommended.
