The area covered a wide range of different habitats from the coastal cliffs of Bemton and Flamborough Head to the interesting and varied North York Moors. I was very fortunate to be part of a group who had between them a whole range of relevant knowledge. We were led by an extremely competent leader with an amazing wealth of knowledge. It would have been difficult to fit more into our available time.

This holiday was a present from my family so I had no knowledge of costs and organisation. All I can say is that as far as I was concerned it worked extremely well. The few questions I had were answered in a friendly and courteous manner. Decisions on specific details of itinerary and locations were reached democratically, no mean feat for such a diverse group.. It certainly helped to make the trip so enjoyable.

A walking and botany tour of the Upper Engadine valley in Switzerland with the most assured and knowledgeable leadership, great hotel and unbelievably superb scenery. The tour included travel on the UNESCO World Heritage Bernina Glacier Express and all the numerous cable cars, buses and gondolas travelled on during the week. Great value for money and we fully intend to travel with Naturetrek again soon.

We have been on holiday with Naturetrek a number of times and are always delighted. The choice of hotel, walking area and, most importantly, the leaders is second to none... and then there are the legendary picnic lunches...

We were led by a very able botanist - David Tattersfield - whose encyclopaedic knowledge enabled us to learn so much about the flora of the Engadine. For instance he showed us the difference between flowers on acid and alkaline soils. We visited 5 valleys in the Pontresina valley and two near St Moritz.

Naturetrek supplied us with much very useful information prior to our visit including a detailed report of a previous tour to the Engadine including full lists of flowers, birds, butterflies, animals, etc., Their staff at the office of the company were also very helpful in dealing with our queries.

A butterfly and wildlife spotting holiday in the Italian Dolomites staying in a small hotel in a village. Daily outings were led by two expert guides. The food and accommodation were excellent.

A thoroughly satisfying exposure to the beautiful flora of the Balkans. Very well organised in all aspects such as travel, lodging, and food, with expert botanist leaders, Andrew Cleave and Vlado. Their patience and competence allowed us to see a full range of flora, including rare species, normally not seen by non professionals.

An excellent tour revealing the wealth of flora in the Swiss Upper Engadine. Every aspect such as travel, lodging, and food very well planned by Naturetrek and the leader. The botanist leader ( David Tattersfield ), chose the locations and timing expertly, ensuring that we saw a full range of flora. He was always patient and available to answer questions and explain environmental factors. Plus a fun group!

Two expert leaders, enjoying different landscapes and habitats, flora and fauna, being with other naturalists, staying in a delightful hotel, eating good food = my ideal holiday. I had longed to be among and up high mountains again. Some of this trip was bound to be at the edge of my physical ability: it was. With Paul Harmes' help a couple of times I achieved all my aims and had a wonderful week. He and co-leader Pete Stevens ensured that more active clients could go further and see more. Both are fun to be with, and enjoy sharing their expert knowledge.

This was my 11th trip with Naturetrek, all in Europe. I am confident that any future holiday I have with them will also be carefully planned, to somewhere of great natural interest, be well described in advance, and excellently led, with care and consideration of clients individually and as a group.

Ship-based wildlife trip to visit pack-ice in the Greenland Sea, plus wildlife sites (including numerous landings by Zodiac) on Spitsbergen & other Svalbard islands. No-one can guarantee wildlife, but we were lucky with calm weather, good visibility , and excellent wildife-luck, helped by assiduous looking out by Naturetrek guides & ship's wildlife staff. Consequently we saw & had good views of essentially all the birds, mammals & plants that we could resaonably hope to see.

Naturetrek's pre-trip organisation was excellent & we were well-informed on all practical details as well as what we night expect/ hope for on the ground. Both Naturetrek & Oceanwide Expeditons (ship's operator) cooperated effectively & enthusiastically to maximise our enjoyment of the environment & its wildlife, and were conspicuously attentive & rigorous to ensure everyone's safety in potentially dangerous conditons (not least hungry Polar Bears). Naturetrek's guides & Oceanwide Expeditons' guides/safety escorts were very well-informed about the environment & wildlife, and were also very friendly, helpful & attentive to everyone's welfare & enjoyment.

Excellent weather - almost too good. The guides knew a great deal about the area and the best places to see birds.

Naturetrek took us to various locations for the best opportunity to see the wildlife of the area.

A small group of fellow amateur botanists enjoyed a few days in this wild, empty and very beautiful landscape with and expert tour leader. The habitats we visited varied from limestone, to acid to riverside and fells.

Naturetrek are a very efficient organisers of this wonderful botanical mini holiday. Accommodation, food, transport and expert guidance were all in place!
