Go Slow in Andalucía

A relaxed and inspiring trip to southern Spain to watch the autumn bird migration in full swing. We also spent a few hours watching whales and dolphins in the Strait of Gibraltar. Our trip leaders were wonderful: always enthusiastic and eager to share their knowledge with the group.

It was well organised, informative and fun.

Birds, bugs and flowers in the Abruzzi outside Rome. We looked for, and often found, all three.

Brazil Just Jaguars - and much more!!!

My trip was a 9 day Naturetrek holiday to the Brazilian Pantanal, primarily to search for jaguars. There were 12 in our group and we all got on extremely well. We stayed in 3 lodges in different locations, each of which offered a different experience. My trip was a 9 day Naturetrek holiday to the Brazilian Pantanal, primarily to search for jaguars. There were 12 in our group and we all got on extremely well. We stayed in 3 lodges in different locations, each of which offered a different experience. The overall trip was well planned and exceeded expectations - food was extremely good and varied considering the remote locations and each lodge provided different wildlife viewings. We had 10 good sightings of jaguars including swimming, hunting sleeping and mating. On top of that we had great viewings including several giant river otters, capybara, caiman, ocelot, tapir, howler monkeys, porcupine, giant anteaters and a huge number of magnificent birds including daily hyacinth macaws. Our guide was knowledgeable, fun and always on duty - all in all an excellent holiday.

Rating for tour operator:

This was my first trip with Naturetrek and I was very impressed. I would certainly use them again. We felt well looked after and could relax as every detail had been taken care of.

Rating for tour operator:

Naturetrek is a specialist wildlife company with whom I have traveled on several occasions. I have always been more than happy with Naturetrek holidays. Their guides are excellent and they offer better wildlife opportunities than more general travel companies.

Autumn bird migration over the Straits of Gibraltar, plus a boat trip seeing sperm whales and a pod of bottle nose dolphins cavorting around our vessel. Wonderful place to stay at Huerta Grande and brilliant guides.

Amazing Namaqua

A two week tour from the Cape to Namaqua to see the floral carpet, birdwatch and see other wildlife. In spite of the lack of rain the flowers were still quite breathtaking. Animals on the doorstep

Having had two previous safari holidays in Africa, this was a first for me camping amongst the animals. On another occasion, returning to the camp for lunch we wee greeted by a herd of elephants in the river some 20 feet from our camp- another magic moment. on another occasion we were halted on the track by an elephant grazing on trees some 10 feet from our vehicle and we all watched in awe as he ate before eventually moving off some 15 minutes later. Our guide was excellent at tracking and we saw leopard and her cub at a kill and on another occasion a pride of lions at a Cape Buffalo kill. The catering was excellent with food prepared over an open fire and the tents roomy and the camp beds comfortable. We have many happy memories and thousands of photos of this wonderful week in the bush in Botswana.

Rating for tour operator:

The British organisers were Naturetrek and the local safari operator was Letaka. Our guide was a freelance called Ace and he really was ace at finding the animals.he had a real knowledge of their habits and was a staunch conservationist.
