The amount of wildlife we saw in The Pantanal exceeded our expectations and it was a real bonus to see the Pink Ipé trees in full bloom. More animals have been ticked off my photography 'wish list'

Whilst the primary objective of the holiday was to see brown bears in the wild, the tour offered so much more. In addition to bears, we saw over 100 species of birds, plus butterflies, damselflies, and a great number of plants.

I have travelled with Naturetrek on a number of occasions and received consistently good service from the company and its tour leaders. Groups are small, and the leaders are highly knowledgeable in their chosen field. The great thing is that clients are all welcome regardless of whether they are beginners or dedicated naturalists. They choice of destinations is immense, meaning there really is something for everyone.

Our holiday was to Slovenia to watch various wildlife in particular Brown Bears from purpose built photo hides located in the Forests.

The tour operator’s communication prior to departure was excellent, the guide organised by them met us at the airport on arrival. The guide was excellent during the holiday & dropped us off at the airport prior to our flight home. All in all I could not fault the operator at all.

As a birding enthusiast I have long wanted to see the Birds of Paradise in W Papua or PNG. This trip was oa unique opportunity to see a number of them in a well lead, safe, and affordable way. I was not disappointed. Our excellent tour leader, Sujan, together with local guides managed to find almost all the target birds.

We saw literally hundreds of birds and butterflies, visited a site for rearing rare snakes, trekked into the night to see bat netting and identifying, found edible frogs and strange beetles. Our fantastically knowledgeable Hungarian guide produced wonderful picnics every day from fresh produce bought locally, as well as driving safely on very bumpy tracks into the wilds.

Everything from the office in England was first rate. In Hungary our solo guide and operator was absolutely amazing, we could not have had a better. He was knowledgeable, efficient, and extremely well organised.

Nature trek is a specialised wildlife holiday provider, offering expertise, subject matter and destinations for a wide range of interests. The Company are easy to contact, helpful and efficient with arrangements. The leaders have expert knowledge and are usually extremely well acquainted with the locations offered, sometimes supported by local guides.

We started off in the Pantanal searching for anteaters and staying in a lodge in Bonito then we went on a boat (Iracema) on the Amazon, Rio Negro and Jau National Park. It was a small group, only 7 of us plus crew and guide.

Offered the holiday we were searching for. Answered our questions promptly but obviously researched the answers before answering. Liaised with us re the extension and accommodation between extension and cruise.

The itinerary took us all over the island from 7000ft up, down to the Indian Ocean, allowing us to experience, not only the flora and fauna, but the culture, giving us a true feel of the Sri Lankan lifestyle. There were the unexpected things (e.g. picking tea/visiting Galle and botanical gardens/being given an ice cream and a map of Sri Lanka/getting along famously with our fellow travellers) and the anticipated things (e.g. learning new things/safaris/night safaris/hotels/religions) but, particularly, the elephants and leopard sightings. We were so very lucky but it was also down to the experienced and knowledgeable guides. The two guides, Saman and Dhanushka, and the driver Sunil, were the perfect team. The guides' general and local wildlife knowledge was invaluable. Their passion for animals, birds, reptiles and insects was infectious and their patience limitless.

Everything we needed to know was contained in the very informative paperwork supplied prior to our holiday by the tour operator. The hotels were as expected. The holiday ran smoothly and even a puncture on the minibus was sorted with speed and good humour. The flight times could not have been better.
