Naturetrek Brochure: Excellent Naturetrek Website: Good Pre Departure Information: Excellent Service from Naturetrek Office: Excellent {Flights Used:caption}: {Flights Used:value} {Flights Used Description:value} Accommodation: Excellent General Content & Interest: Excellent Itinerary: Excellent The extremely hot weather prevented us from taking walking safaris. Trip Leader(s): Excellent Overall Satisfaction: Excellent In the top 2 best safaris we've been on. Incredible variety of birds & mammals seen. Do you think the holiday was good value for money?: Yes. (Before we went we thought it was expensive but highly satisfied by the end of the holiday). I'd like to mention the staff at the lodge as they were incredibly helpful, polite, engaging & nothing was too much trouble - being assisted by staff to & from the chalet/tents was also reassuring Did you feel that there were any areas which require attention on this holiday, or are in need of improvement?: Not much Naturetrek can do about the travelling but we spent 2 days travelling both at the beginning & the end of the holiday due to lack of direct flights. We returned home thinking we'd had an amazing time. Please tell us what your holiday highlight was, or what you enjoyed about it most:: Nice surprise having the surprise sundowner next to the river the penultimate night when we thought we were going to miss out the sundowners & have an early night. Seeing a leopard up a tree & on another occasion, leopard cubs. Would you travel with Naturetrek again?: Yes

Rating for tour operator:

The brochure was excellent & informative. The website was good & the departure information excellent as was the pre departure information. When we were informed that the accommodation was chalet/tents we travelled expecting some basic comforts & possibly some infestation or unwanted guests but the chalet was wonderful & absolutely spotlessly clean. All the basic needs with 2 washbasins a walk in shower & separate WC. All of which were high quality. The room was cleaned & serviced everyday after we'd gone out & we returned after a morning & evening's travelling searching for wildlife to a comfortable, spotlessly clean accommodation. The fact it was described as a "tent" doesn't do it justice. We were amongst nature & other wildlife but were escorted mornings & at night by wonderful, smiling, friendly local staff who couldn't do enough to ensure we were safe & happy. All the staff were very nice, helpful, accommodating & happy. The tour guides helpful , informative & knowledgeable.

Isles of Scilly

A birdwatching holiday on these beautiful islands, with daily excursions and boat trips to explore the hills and valleys and bays with turquoise waters and idyllic beaches.

We travelled by mini bus , canoe, plane, train and of course by foot for our fabulous walks led by Jose our leader from Cusco. He was so knowledgable about birds, their calls, wildlife and history. He clearly loves his country. He had a great sense of humour, organised our trip well and catered for all the whims of a very mixed group of people. We had excellent accommodation and food. He also had great guides assisting him. Wow factors were breakfast by a macaw lick, fab views of cock of the rock, humming birds, , cloud forest and spending time in a wonderful landscape like Machu Picchu!

From the time we enquired and booked this holiday staff at Naturetrek were there to answer questions, help with a food allergy, sort out a change of flight and to reassure us of our choice of holiday. They have chosen a good guide to lead us around the country and we value their expertise. Good communication throughout.

Brilliant Borneo

Knowledgeable naturalist guide. We became nocturnal to find the mammals of Deramakot Forest. Then moved on to the Kinabatangan river resort where river trips provided even more delightful mammal sightings.

The Italian Dolomites in Autumn

I have been on many wildlife holidays with Naturetrek starting in 2011. For me, they are the best at providing a wide range of wildlife travel adventures for small groups of like-minded individuals. Their customer service is excellent, the leaders are truly professional and the trips are good value for money. I have had many great experiences and learnt so much. Long may they continue.

We stayed in 2 mobile camps - so close to nature that we were visited several nights by elephant, lion and hyena! Our on the ground tour operator was AfricanBig5 Tours and Safaris, and our two guides Partner and Nelson, were terrific. We saw countless lions (close up and personal at times!), leopards and cheetah; and don't forget the wild dogs, which we were so lucky to encounter more than once. One encounter with a leopard occurred in Kwai during a night drive - we were on our way back to camp and there it was, walking alongside the track - mesmerizing. Driving through stunning scenery which changes almost at every turn, from wild desertscape populated by bizarrely twisted trunks of dead trees to the lush pools and channels of the Okavango Delta: we really felt we were in a remote and wild place, and rarely saw any other vehicles. Oh and the elephants of course - hundreds of elephants: the cause of the devastated treescapes according to our guides! We were camping for 7 nights and could have done 7 more in an instant! Did I mention the food - tasty and copious! Brilliant adventure. We will be coming back!

Naturetrek was our UK tour operator. We have travelled with them on safari before and we trust their judgement. They know their clients well and the tours they provide are focussed on clients' interests and expectations. Brochure descriptions have not over promised (and perhaps sometimes undersell). On both tours we have done with them I liked their use of local companies and their philosophy of supporting local communities. Everything worked perfectly - the transfers all worked and the on the ground opertors they use are always excellent. I would definitely use Naturetrek again.

The best introduction to the amazing flora and fauna of a small part of Borneo, that whets ones appetite for more!

Borneo's mammmals- Deramakot Forest Reserve was a trip of a lifetime. Our local guide Henri, was informative, ( not only about the wildlife and flora, but about the local culture) patient and kind, taking everyone's interests into consideration. It was a very well organized trip, from the publicity material, answering any of our queries throughout the booking process, to the final joining instructions to the logistics on ground and properties that were chosen for our stay. Thank you, Naturetrek.
