Efficient and Friendly

Birding day trip over 3 sites.

Extremely knowledgeable about a range of things which really added to my enjoyment of the day.

A brilliant trip, we loved every minute! Saw numerous varieties of birds and all were identified by our guide, Barrie Cooper. He had a lovely friendly manner and took time to explain about them all.

Very efficient and tours easy to book. Also they have produced several virtual tours which are very interesting.

We spent one day with the ex warden, Tim Appleton and his partner Penny. We visited many hides ad surrounding areas. Tim and Penny were exceptional leaders, their knowledge of the reserve is enormous and they shared lots of information with us throughout the day. It was an exceptional day of birdwatching.

A superb organisation offering nature based holidays around the world. All of the guides we have met are brilliant and the care that is taken with clients is exceptional.

From an unpromising start with rather cold, showery forecast, so we feared butterflies might not venture out, it turned into a brilliant day. Things warmed up, the sun shone and, thanks to our exceptional guide, we ended up seeing far more species of butterfly (and moth), and getting good, repeated views, including several firsts as far as I was concerned, and all this in the most beautiful landscape and with continuous birdsong, exceeding all our expectations.

Naturetrek is a great company, with such a good understanding of what would appeal to its target audience, trips so well organised, and with outstanding guides, who are so knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend time with.

Day trip with a knowledgeable guide who found 55 species of birds in various habitats in the New Forest and south coast marshes.

Well-run administration and good communication

The day was fantastic, mainly because we had such a great guide - his expertise in both recognising bird calls and spotting birds was second to none. He would spot birds way off into the distance giving us plenty of time to hone in before they came our way ensuring that we saw sought after birds such as bittern and hobby at very close range. I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

this was a day trip on Exmoor, main focus was birds. Oliver, the leader, was incredibly knowledgable, with the most amazing ear. He could hear, recognise and work out the source, of all the birds we had hoped to see. There was just the one that eluded us - we heard it, over and over - and that was the cuckoo. Naturetrek guides never lose sight of the fact that this needs to be fun too. People ha e wildly varied knowledge to start with, and it was suitable for all of us. Those who have more knowledge always seem happy to share.
