Reviews of Naturetrek

Binoculars and bird enthusiasts
A fantastic snapshot of a vast swathe of open mixed habitat and the species, (birds in particular) that lie within. Authentic delights of Spanish hospitality, culture and consideration, with a group of like minded people.

A superb holiday packed with wildlife
We saw fascinating animals and birds wild in their natural settings, and had the opportunity to observe them for long enough to watch their natural behaviour, and also take good photographs and videos. Having a guide who could both find and give interesting information about the wildlife was invaluable.

Excellent in every aspect - office staff knowledgeable and helpful; structure of itinerary very good; all staff on the trip could not be faulted; wildlife guide Raul Guarnizo is an asset to Naturetrek: he is extremely knowledgeable and skilled, as well as being friendly, kind and interesting. He put great effort into making our holiday the best it could be. His helpful attention to our needs and wishes continued throughout the trip, right up to our check-in at Cuiaba airport.

Excellent itinerary and leadership
It was a bird watching trip in The Gambia. With the excellent itinerary and leadership we saw a high number of target species of birds and butterflies. Loved every minute of it.

Amazing time in Africa
It was the trip of a lifetime, a 50th birthday present to go and see giraffes (and loads of other wildlife but the giraffes were why we booked) in Uganda. An amazing welcoming country with incredible animals

Brazil - Just Jaguars
We stayed at 3 different lodges, one of them floating. Being on the flotel allowed us more time in the boats to see the jaguars and other animals. The guides were very knowledgeable and accommodating. The lodges were comfortable and in good locations and the staff and food were very good.

They were able to answer all of our questions before we booked the trip and responded on a timely basis. They provided detailed itineraries, what to expect, what to do before you go and all other information we needed. They were able to book hotels before and after the tour as requested, as well as transfers. This is our second trip with this operator.

A Herpetologist's Dream!

We flew to Durban and then travelled up the coast to the Mozambique border, taking in a number of nature reserves and different landscapes. There were only 3 of us in the group which enabled us to get close-up and personal with some amazing creatures. Our guide, Tyrone, was a reptile expert and knew exactly where to look to find and photograph some wonderful and rare creatures. The highlight of the trip was accompanying him to extract a Mozambique Spitting Cobra from the bathroom of a very unhappy lady in a town called St. Lucia. In spite of getting some snake venom in his mouth, Tyrone succeeded and later released the snake (after we had had ample opportunity to photograph and video it.). Many of the creatures we wanted to see were nocturnal so we also went out after dark most nights armed with head torches to carry on the search. In addition to the reptiles and amphibians, we also saw some amazing birds and large mammals. A wonderful, all-round safari experience with a hands-on and knowledgeable guide!

Naturetrek is a specialist company offering wildlife experiences all over the world. From day trips and short breaks in the UK to mega safaris in South America, Africa and Australia, Naturetrek offers it all. We have travelled with them many times - they are not cheap but we know that whenever we travel with them we will have the best possible experience with the best guides. Naturetrek has an excellent website as well as a super brochure for those who prefer to browse. Finally, the customer service is second to none. They are always helpful and professional and always answer the phone straight away - other travel companies should take note! Highly recommended.
