Walked around the Arran coastline. My documentation was detailed and accurate. The accommodation was good or great and I would do it (or something similar) again

Great instructions and information. It is clear that they know their destination and what is involved for the tourist.

We had an unexpected heat wave, not dressed for that. Also Winchester end of walk has very poor access to water, which was bad on hot days. A lot of it is walking in agri-business on farm tracks, not the best walking surface and always at risk of interruption by huge tractors and spray rigs. We did not feel adequately advised about this. The B&B’s were all very good, the map and guide book were fine and the luggage and taxis were excellent. The bag lunches were mostly pretty bad, no provision for vegans and not very good food. We will bring our own next time. We dont blame Mickledore for this, we had forgotten it was like this on previous trip also. B&B’s all provided a great breakfast but not so good at lunch.

We have used Mickledore before. They provide a reliable and honest service. We like the way they present the options. We feel the prices are fair.

My sister and I walked along the Hadrian Wall path over 10 days. We enjoyed the well-signed walk, the immersion in a piece of history and all the sheep! While many people do this walk in a shorter time, this was just right for our aging joints. Infact we could have added a couple of days to take in more of the local sights. At the end of each day we were warmly received by B&B hosts who are familiar to a walkers needs including help with drying out muddy boots and sometimes a lift to and from the local pub at the end of the day where we would enjoy an excellent meal and raise a pint to the day.

Mickledore Walking Holidays arranged our holiday. They happily answered our various e-mailed questions as we planned the trip. They provided clear, helpful material, both for trip preparation and for use during the walk. The materials included an excellent guide book with a pull-out map of our walk specific to the direction that we were taking. The baggage delivery system worked very well. This was the first time that I have used a baggage delivery system--it is a delightful luxury.

This was our first long walk holiday, we wanted it to be an holiday so we did it over 9 days with a 'rest' day at Twice Brewed to see the forts. We had a wonderful time, with fantastic views, we met many friendly and interesting people. We would recommend this walk highly, it wasnt too difficult, we'll sign posted when needed and you are walking history!

Mickledore provided An excellent service From the first contact to the end. The standard of accommodation was excellent overall and also the recommendation of places to eat. The team at Mickledore were very friendly and knowledgeable. The information provided before we started the walk was clear and understandable. Our holiday was just a great experience with no worries about where to, go how to find the accommodation and where to eat. I would certainly use Mickledore again in the future.

We did the northern half of the West Highland Way, from Crianlarich to Fort William. We had 4 nights accommodate and 3 days walking. We took advantage of the luggage transfer and packed lunches provided package. Every aspect of our holiday was excellent. Even before I booked up Mickledore were great at giving me advice on when would be a good time of year to do the walk. Having everything taken care of for us meant we could just enjoy the landscape. Each time we arrived at our next stop we got a warm welcome from our hosts, and they gave us recommendations for dinner if they couldn't provid it and in the morning we had delicious breakfasts and were provided with a tasty packed lunch. The map and info pack provided were very useful as well. Overall it was an amazing experience

A family group of cousins decided to hike the Great Glen Way from fort William to Inverness. We are in our 60’s and 70’s so a premium was placed on comfortable lodging and “slack packing” with our luggage taken from place to place. We choose Mickledore to arrange the holiday. The trail is so well marked and so spectacular, particularly between FortAugustus and Inverness, and our trip information was comprehensive bath before and during the trip. Since we were a large group of 9, I was impressed with the ability of Mickledore to accommodate us along the way in the same lodging or in nearby B&Bs. All transfers were well planned and the taxi companies accommodating. The prehike information allowed me to easily prebook dinners as well, which was useful. We were all thoroughly delighted with the hike, even with some snow, rain and sun. For those doing the Great Glen, the surface is hard for a lot of the trail - plan accordingly with footwear. Coming down from the high section walks along the Loch Ness are very steep - poles are a must if you have any knee issues, and are a good idea for everyone else. Breaking up the last day of 20 miles is also a great idea ( 2 10 mile segments). We were extremely please with Mickledore! Thanks to them for the expert planning which added so much to this wonderful family holiday!

Mickledore was terrific. Very organised and met the needs of our larger than normal family group of older hikers. Great accommodations and excellent support with luggage transfers etc. I will use them again.

In difficult weather conditions, our party of four began our walking holiday with wonderful support from Mickledore travel. There Was constant contact with the company guiding us and checking all was safe for our daily journeys. We did have to adapt our original holiday plans and were supported throughout by Mickledore.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Hadrian's Wall walking experience. The views were amazing, so much space and fresh air. An amazing opportunity to stop off at Vindolanda and explore and experience history. Each evening we came off the track to a different B&B and our bgas were there so we didn't have to carry more than a day pack. We had great maps and directions so the path was easy to follow if not always easy walking!

We were supplied with great maps and directions and the pick up and delivery of our bags from each stoppoff point worked perfectly. The B&Bs we stayed in were all very good and quite different.

My husband & I had a lovely 15 day walk across England on the Coast to Coast route. Lodging, bag transport, and lunches were expertly arranged by Mickledore Travel. After a "full English" breakfast provided by our lovely B&B hosts, we set out across England. We traversing three stunning National Parks (Lake District, Yorkshire Dale and the North York Moors). The diversity of the scenery and villages was wonderful. We have done many long walks and the Coast to Coast is one of our favorites.

Mickledore Travel expertly arranged our lodging, bag transport, and lunches on the Coast to Coast walk in England. Their pre-trip package contained everything we need to know before and during our adventure. The quality of the B&B and inns booked were outstanding! Each one unique, friendly, clean, convenient and thoroughly enjoyable at the end of a long day of walking. On our flight to England one bag was misplaced by the airlines. Mickledore handled the logistics with the airlines and made sure our bag was delivered en route to us.
