First part of The Thames Path

We have had a wonderful holiday with almost perfect weather. Our last accommodation was in Oxford. We did book an extra night to visit Oxford. I can recommend that to everyone. All the accommodations were perfect and very close to the route. Only the accommodation in Oxford was a bit further away but it has a perfect location to visit Oxford.

The views were amazing ….. well-earned rewards for the vigorous climbs along the Cleveland Hills and coastal paths. We looked forward at the end of each day to refreshing ourselves with the hospitality and good food at well chosen accommodations…. clean, comfortable and unique to each location along the walk. The pre-planning and arrangements of a walking holiday are essential to it’s success. Mickeldore is our trusted partner in making these lifetime memories.

After arranging for our three walking holidays since 2017, I can say with great confidence that Mickeldore is a well organized, experienced, and reliable tour operator. The staff is very communicative and responds in a timely fashion to our questions from start to finish. We are already planning our next holiday with them. Traveling from the States to the UK can require special planning….. they make it possible.

Excellent week’s walk

We were able to enjoy a wonderful week’s walking around Yorkshire because the detail was planned so well by Mickledore. From hand-picking the excellent accommodation to arranging the efficient bag transport we really appreciated the thought which went into making this a perfect holiday.

Northumberland Coastal Path Walk

My elder brother and I travelled 300miles north to stay in Morpeth, Northumberland for our first night's stay. The following day we began a 6-day walking adventure at the start of the Northumberland Coastal Path, from Cresswell, and we walked the 62-mile route to Berwick-upon-Tweed, with a stop-over day at Fenwick to visit Lindisfarne (or Holy Island).

I have used Mickledore Travel in the past when organising the Coast-to-Coast (St.Bees Head to Robin Hood's Bay) a few years ago. I am always impressed by the standard of accommodation they manage to arrange and for the meticulous planning and information that they provide, from walking maps and guide books, to general information regarding shops, bars, cafes, doctors, toilets and other essentials along the route. The onward transportation of our luggage is always first rate with no mistakes made on either trip. They were brilliant from start to finish.

Walking the Cotswolds with Mickledore

We walked with six friends (60+) from Painswick to Bath in 5 days. So we took our time to enjoy the beautiful landscapes, villages, and pubs. As we are from Belgium we know the region through the Midsummer Murders series, and we were not disappointed at all. Though the kissing gates were squeaking, there were no murders during our visit. As we are from Belgium we know the region through the Midsummer Murders series, and we were not disappointed at all. Though the kissing gates were squeaking, there were no murders during our visit. B&B's were top, and luggage transport perfect. The hosts were very helpful with parking and transportation issues between the start and endpoints. Bath was a wonderful experience after the walking holiday with roman and modern baths, the pump room, the abbey, and Avebury and Stonehenge to visit. After a very good experience of Hadrian wall some years ago, Mickledore again gave us the desire to walk again in the UK.

We walked from Minehead to Westwood Ho! over 9 days staying in some lovely B&B's and Guest Houses along the way. The host's were all very accommodating and friendly. Some days were more challenging than others and we had some beautiful scenery along the way.

Mickledore planned the holiday well. We were sent a very comprehensive guide 2-3 weeks beforehand giving full details of where we were staying, the walk each day, suggested places to eat, and local shops and amenities. They pre-booked taxis for us where they had been unable to find accommodation at the start/finish of the stage.

Must do walk

Everyone should do this walk. What an experience it was. Starting and finishing on the coast with wonderful varied scenery along the way, with only a couple of average scenery days.
