Walking the Dingle Way

My husband and I spent 9 days in Ireland walking the Dingle Way. The walk itself was beautiful, varied, well marked and lushly green. Dingle is a great day to take a break and do some sightseeing. Easy public transportation to the start/finish of Tralee.

It was our fourth self-guided walking tour arranged excellently by Mickledore. Every detail they arranged was wonderful. Excellent accommodations with friendly hosts, taxis arrived on time, bags were always waiting for us when we arrived at the B&B and the restaurant recommendations were spot on. We will always count on Mickledore to arrange our adventures in the British Isles.

Mickledore walking holidays

We have taken five trips with Mickledore (England and Scotland). Every one of them has been great. Very well organized, and fine accommodations. We plan to take more trips with them!

This is the third time we have used Mickledore travel who are a fantastic company and they provided excellent maps and information prior to going away, the accommodation was excellent throughout and taxi transfers and luggage transfer spot on, nothing is to much for them and the service is very personal, we would highly recommend them .

A truly wonderful walk along the glorious Pembrokeshire coastal footpath: a mixture of sublime, scintillating and sweet sea and land scape. Walking the Cotswold Round starting at Moreton-In-Marsh

As a recently retired couple who haven't walked a long-distance route for years, we loved the pace of this holiday. The shorter daily mileage allowed us to enjoy the scenery, have coffee breaks and a browse around the village/town destinations each day which were so picturesque. We loved the whole concept of waking up in a different village/town each day and moving on without a suitcase! Great accommodation, lovely hosts and flawless baggage ...

Mickledore were recommended to us by experienced walking friends and they did not disappoint! We booked in advance and advice was offered from the start on best starting dates, including a rest day. Information provided was spot on -loved the personalised booklet, description of route and OS map which helped. I was apprehensive as to whether I would be catered for being vegan. Mickledore informed all our accommodation, and it was not an issue-they also provide websites for evening meals at destinations, so I was able to pre-book which is advisable. Already looking at booking our next walking holiday with them.

This is the fourth trip that I have undertaken with Mickledore. They have consistently provided excellent service, attending to every detail of the trip planning process. The accommodations have consistently been very good and materials provided for the trip (maps, guidebooks, recommendations for eateries, and sundry details) have been suburb! They have consistently been prompt and courteous in their communications and when there were problems, such as having to reschedule this trip twice because of COVID travel restrictions, they were enormously helpful in rescheduling. Top notch agency!

Spectacular wallking holiday close to nature

Wonderful walking from St David's to St Dogmaels along the northern Pembrokeshire coastal path. Thrilled to see many seals and their pups in remote coves, herons, a kingfisher and dolphins. Good accomodation and food with helpful luggage transfers.

Walking the Borders Abbeys Way

Mickledore organised my recent Borders Abbeys Way walk and all I had to do was turn up and enjoy the experience. It was a very varied and satisfying circuit - the route was full of interest, history and beautiful scenery. Route finding was easy with a helpful little guidebook and excellent waymarking. Highlights included the 20 minutes spent watching an otter dive for food in the River Teviot, not forgetting the abbeys themselves and a series ...

Highlights included the 20 minutes spent watching an otter dive for food in the River Teviot, not forgetting the abbeys themselves and a series of historic towns to explore at the end of each day's walk. I always look forward to arriving at my accommodation at the end of the day and this time the places I stayed in were even better than I expected. And I do have high expectations of this company. I had some huge, some cosy rooms in a variety of amazing B&Bs, all with friendly and helpful hosts.

This was my 10th Mickledore walk - I've reached double figures! As usual, all the information needed en route was included in the comprehensive holiday pack as well as in the app and I had total peace of mind that all eventualities were covered.

Fantastic Isle of Wight

My sister and I walked the Isle of Wight coastal path this year. This holiday has been a long time coming and we were both looking forward to it. We did not need to worry about accommodation as this was organised for us. The holiday pack had all the relevant information and places to eat where we were staying overnight. This is the second holiday we booked with Mickledore and we would use them again for our next walking adventure.

Lady Annes Way by The_Colonel, 23 Sep 2022

A lovely walking holiday

In 2022 we walked the Lady Anne's Way through the picturesque Yorkshire Dales & in to the eastern edge of The Lake District. Beautiful scenery, and some great walking. Despite being over 100 miles long, it was fairly easy going - but the ability to read a map is essential as there were not that many dedicated Lady Anne's Way markers.
